What happened between Olivia Dunne and Markell Washington? Feud between TikTok stars explained

BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA: Olivia Dunne is a 20-year-old social media sensation who has taken the internet by storm, quickly garnering a vast following of young fans. Dunne has gained fame for her impressive achievements as a gymnast as she has won countless competitions and awards. Affectionately known as 'Livvy', this Louisiana State University student boasts a staggering 7.5 million followers on TikTok.

Dunne is a popular figure loved by millions but it seems like not everyone appreciates her. Markell Washington, a TikToker, recently created a buzz by claiming that Olivia was impolite towards him when he tried to shake her hand. This incident has brought Markell's drama into the limelight, but Dunne's response to the issue has been nothing but graceful.

'My feelings are hurt'

The whole drama started when TikToker Washington stated that Dunne was disrespectful to him in Los Angeles as he reached out for a handshake.

However, Dunne allegedly responded with a "stink-eye." As the TikToker appeared on the 'BFFs' podcast, he said: "I reached out and tried to shake her hand, I tell you not, sis looked like this [stink-eye] and said, ‘Hi, nice to meet you.'"

He further stated that it was his only encounter with her and continued: “We ain’t gonna hate her, that was just my only ever encounter with her, but it’s like, first encounters are everything. So, even if she were to apologize or say she didn’t see me, I'd say b***h, you saw me!”

Olivia Dunne addressed the issue in a TikTok video, stating that she is solely focused on her passion for gymnastics, creating engaging content, and prefers to avoid any unnecessary controversies.

“I just want to do my gymnastics and make content. I would never, ever… I’m not being dramatic. My feelings are hurt.”

‘People can just make stuff up’

After criticizing Dunne on the BFFs Podcast, Washington continued to give his side of the story, insisting that he wasn't lying about the encounter and acknowledging that the whole thing was "stressing" him out.

Several citizens reportedly criticized Dunne following the incident because they believed Washington's side of the story. Dunne also claimed that the BFFs podcast co-host Josh Richards FaceTimed her and apologized for the hate Dunne was receiving after the show went live. Exclaiming that she understands that nothing on social media should be taken personally, she said, “I guess that’s what social media is. People can just make stuff up.”
