LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Greta Gerwig’s much-awaited flick ‘Barbie’ is just one month away from its release. The fans of the iconic doll franchise have been eagerly waiting to see Margot Robbie don the pink wardrobe of Barbie and set on an adventure like never before. Ken, played by Ryan Gosling, will be Barbie’s right-hand man who is expected to never leave her side. To give a glimpse and allow fans to have a hands-on experience of the world of Barbie, AirBnb in collaboration with the team of the film, has opened its doors to Barbie’s dream house in Malibu.
Barbie turned host on Airbnb in 2019 when she listed her entire pad on the site which overlooks the Pacific Ocean. She decided to hand over the keys for the ultimate fan stay but this time, Ken is leading the way while Barbie is away. Ken is listing his room in her iconic Malibu Dreamhouse on Airbnb and bringing Barbie’s all-pink world back by popular demand. Ken is inviting two lucky guests to stay in the newly revamped Malibu Dreamhouse and believes that this time it’s his turn to cater to hosts and make them feel at home.
What does the house offer?
The entire pad is a larger-than-life recreation of Barbie’s signature style and hospitality. Located in sunny Malibu, the oceanfront mansion features panoramic views and serves as the perfect backdrop for Ken’s picture-plastic paradise. While at the pad, guests can take a spin through Ken’s awesome wardrobe to find their best beach fit, channel their inner cowboy and learn a line dance or two on Ken’s outdoor disco dance floor. The guests can sunbathe near the pool and can also take home a piece of ‘Kendom' with their very own set of yellow-and-pink Impala skates and surfboards.
The place is also decked with cowboy stuff, guitars, and more which is true to Ken’s personality. Be rest assured that even though that Barbie isn’t there, the signature pink is always present throughout the home. Ken may have brought a little Kenergy to Barbie’s dream house but her home remains true to her choices and persona.
How much does it cost to stay?
A place to rent in Malibu, even for a night will put a dent in your pocket. But Ken is here to take care of that. All stays will be free of charge because Ken is known for his beach skills and not math. So Ken’s room is up for grabs for two lucky guests in Barbie’s dream house. The bookings resume on July 17 at 10 am PT at airbnb.com/kendreamhouse and guests are expected to arrange for their own travels. Ken is being a true altruist and allowing fans to stay in his room but Barbie’s dream house was earlier available for a two-night stay for only $60 a night (plus taxes and fees) in 2019. However, this time it’s only Ken’s room, and free of cost.
Is Ken playing the super host?
Ken had invited fans to Barbie’s dream house in Malibu for two individual one-night stays for up to two guests each on July 21 and July 22, 2023. The movie hits the US theatres on July 21, 2023, and the lucky fans can experience the ‘Kenergy’ by renting out Ken’s room in Barbie’s Malibu pad. Will Ken be there in person for fans to live a wholesome experience? We are yet to find out but his offer to stay in the Malibu house is enticing, to say the least.
