MANCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE: New shocking details have now been released in the death case of Harmony Montgomery. An affidavit reportedly disclosed that the five-year-old’s father, Adam Montgomery, claimed her life two years before she was reported missing in November 2021. Not only that, but he moved her body for months before getting rid of it.
The official document is mostly based on the interviews given by Adam’s ex-wife, Kayla, as reported by NBC News. The 32-year-old has alleged that her former husband murdered Harmony on December 7, 2019, after hitting her numerous times in the face or head. She also asserted that Adam, at the time, told her, “I think I really hurt her this time. I think I did something.”
Adam reportedly hid Harmony’s body for several months
As per the police affidavit, the little girl was killed when Adam and Kayla were living in a car after being evicted from their house on Gilford Street in Manchester. Kayla told the investigators that Adam was very upset with Harmony since she used to accidentally urinate in the car and used to beat her often but on the day of the alleged incident, he went too far, taking her life.
Kayla reportedly claimed that they did not even bother to find out if Harmony was fine after Adam punched the child several times on her face and head. They only discovered that the child was dead when the car stopped working. She added that Adam put her body in a duffle bag, and as they lived in a family friend’s car, the bag was inside the vehicle’s trunk. Sometimes, the father would allegedly even place the bag in the snow to delay decomposition.
Moreover, Adam apparently moved the body from one place to another for three months before finally dumping it at "an unknown destination" during the spring of 2020, as per The Sun. Kayla asserted that he never told her the body’s location, and authorities are yet to find Harmony's body.
The current whereabouts of Kayla and Adam Montgomery
Adam was charged with his daughter's death in October 2022 before being indicted by a grand jury at the start of this year. In a separate weapons trial, he was convicted of all charges at the beginning of June and now faces several years of jail term. On the other hand, Kayla is reportedly serving time for perjury and is expected to give testimony against her ex-husband in the upcoming murder trial.
