Where is Gabriella Todman? Police claim texts parents received weren't from missing 15-year-old

NORFOLK, VIRGINIA: Gabriella Todman, a teenage girl from Norfolk, Virginia, has been missing for two weeks. Her family allegedly received text messages from the 15-year-old, but law enforcement doesn't think they are from the missing girl.

The texts and social media messages sent to the Virginia mother on August 3 were not from the missing daughter, as per Norfolk Police Chief Mark Talbot. He also claimed that Todman, who reportedly vanished on July 24 from her home, had previously gone missing but always reappeared within a day.

"We investigated that thoroughly. We do not believe that the messages came from Gabby at this point," the chief stated.

"We have more work to do related to those messages, much more investigative work. But at this point, we’re asking for the public’s help in finding out where she might be," he added, as per WTKR.

Where is Gabriella Todman?

Gabriella Todman, 15, from Norfolk, Virginia, has been missing for more than two weeks. She vanished from her house on July 24, 2023.

The authorities are still looking into her disappearance and are asking for the public's assistance in locating her.

When was she last seen?

Gabriella is 5 feet and 5 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. She has brown eyes and wavy dark brown hair.

She was last seen at 1 pm on July 24 on Glenn Myrtle Avenue wearing a black and green hoodie, black jeans, black socks, and black slides, according to police.

Texts 'sparked a different thought'

The police chief said that Gabriella's timeline had made his investigators "anxious" and that the texts had "sparked a different thought" about what had transpired.

He noted, "There's a sense of urgency that we're bringing to this investigation, like we bring to all investigations." However, he did not reveal what the messages said.

Are there any suspects in the case?

As part of their investigation, detectives have been knocking on doors and speaking with neighbors and Gabby's mother. "The time period itself is enough to say something different seems to be happening," the chief stated.

Asked about the possibility of an abduction, Talbot remarked, "We're not ruling anything out." "We have no evidence that would indicate she was abducted," he added. "We have no suspects that we've been able to identify," as per WTKR.
