LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tupac Shakur was one of the most sensational hip-hop stars in the late 1990s before his tragic death in 1996. While he didn’t get time enough to produce a substantial amount of music, his musical legacy is evident from the four albums he published during his lifetime. Even after death. Many of his creations were published in posthumous albums. He even found success as an actor through his multiple outings in the films like ‘Juice’, ‘Bullet’ and ‘Gang Related.’ Thus, it is no surprise that such an influential rapper would be getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. However, what is surprising is the TikToker Jaycee Shakur’s claim to be ‘All Eyez on Me’ star’s daughter.
As the rapper who was known for his activism and including social issues in his creations is going to be inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame on June 7, it is high time to revisit the TikToker Jaycee Shakur who claimed to be Tupac’s daughter in June 2021. It came as a surprise to the fans of the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer as the rapper officially did not have any child during his lifetime.
Who is Jaycee Shakur?
While it is not known where the famed TikToker lives, it is guessed that her nationality is American. Jaycee, who goes by the name @boogiebentley, already enjoyed a considerable fan following on social media before claiming in July 2021 in a tell-all video titled ‘I am Tupac’s Daughter.’ Quite naturally, the claim had a polarizing effect on her followers as some opined that the similarities between the ‘Brenda’s Got a Baby’ crooner and the social media star was unmistakable, and others seemed to dismiss her claims.
Interestingly, Jaycee did not substantiate her claims much in the video. According to Briefly, there are only two instances that can be considered probable evidence as nothing has been confirmed by the Shakur family. In one of the pictures with Tupac, his mother, Afeni Shakur can be seen holding a little child. In the other photo, the ‘Trapped’ singer can be seen holding a baby in his arms. After this, fans speculated that Jaycee might be the daughter of Tupac and an unknown female. But the other group seemed to have busted the claim saying the baby can be anyone ranging from an acquaintance to a niece.
However, a section of fans sided with her citing a particular verse from Busta Rhymes’ 1997 album ‘When Disaster Strikes’ “Tupac: soldier, warrior, may Allah bless your family, your daughter, her mother, your mother (Afeni Shakur)”. Still, nothing more conclusive about the claims could be found.
What is Jaycee Shakur doing now?
Jaycee’s Instagram account has been made private. Even though she used to post regularly on Twitter till 2020, her last post was done on April 15, 2022, almost after a hiatus of one and a half years. Interestingly, her Twitter name is also ‘Tupac’s Daughter.’ It is presumed she is now doing well through the income she generates through her social media platforms on TikTok and YouTube.
