Who is Bobbi Storm? Flight attendant threatens to kick Grammy nominee off the plane after she refused to stop singing to passengers

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a recent incident, Grammy-nominated gospel singer Bobbi Storm found herself clashing with a Delta flight attendant after she refused to cease her impromptu in-flight performance for fellow passengers.

Videos circulating on social media show Storm, 36, attempting to entertain travelers. This prompted an airline employee to threaten to escort her off the plane.

The Detroit-born vocalist featured in the Grammy's 2024 Best Gospel Album nomination, 'The Maverick Way', by Christian group Maverick City Music.

Storm stood in the aisle during the flight, and an unimpressed flight attendant ordered her back to her seat.

Storm shares her unconventional chart-topping journey

Responding to the attendant's request to be quiet, "I'm charting right now on the billboards," said Storm. The attendant said: "Can you just sit down and be quiet?"

Despite the tension, Storm proceeded to share her origin story and Grammy nominations with passengers.

However, some appeared uneasy, while others seemed to enjoy the spectacle. Storm revealed her initial plan to treat passengers to a song as they boarded but reconsidered due to reaching the "next status".

Tense exchange between Storm and flight attendant

The flight attendant reappeared, asking Storm to be quiet, leading to a tense exchange. When threatened with not being allowed to continue the flight, Storm eventually agreed.

However, moments later, she whispered to fellow passengers, suggesting she would sing quietly for them in the back. Storm's actions received criticism on social media, with some users deeming them disrespectful.

"I used to sing on planes a long time ago," Storm says. "I just found out I'm up for two Grammys. My very first time, you guys."

Many travelers applauded as she said, "My name is Bobbi Storm, and I'm up for two Grammys. I sing for the Lord, and my song is out on all platforms. It's called We Can't Forget Him. I wanna share this with you guys."

Storm's defense and Delta's apology

Storm defended her behavior in a follow-up video, claiming Delta apologized to her.

She expressed hope that the attendant "learns a valuable lesson on how to treat other people".

Acknowledging Delta's outreach, Storm urged maintaining a respectful treatment of one another.

The incident raises discussions on the balance between self-expression and consideration for others in shared spaces, sparking debates about etiquette and respect on social media.
