Who is Christopher Froelich? Lawyer of Taylor Schabusiness who brutally murdered her boyfriend claims she ‘deserves to be happy'

GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN: Christopher Froelich, the attorney of Taylor Schabusiness, who was convicted of murdering and dismembering her ex-boyfriend, claims that she should be given the possibility of parole as she “deserves to be happy.”

On Tuesday, September 26, 2023, the 25-year-old was sentenced to life in prison without parole for murdering her boyfriend Shad Thyrion in a methamphetamine-fuelled attack in February 2022.

The Wisconsin mother also received an additional 7½ years sentence for mutilating a corpse and three years for third-degree sexual assault.

Froelich is now intending to appeal the court’s decision on Schabusiness’s behalf. He took her case in February when her previous lawyer, Quinn Jolly, resigned after she attacked him in court.

Why does Christopher Froelich believe Taylor Schabusiness deserves the possibility of parole?

Froelich recently told Fox News Digital that he believes Schabusiness should be given the possibility of receiving extended supervision or therapy and counseling.

“I really feel that this young lady should be given a chance at the possibility — not the probability — of getting out on extended supervision or parole someday after decades of work — therapy, counseling,” said Froelich of the Green Bay-based Froelich Law Group.

Some people speculated that Schabusiness donned the spit cowl on Tuesday not to shield the court visitors but to hide his expressions. But Froelich explained that she wore the hoot due to “some issues at the jail” earlier that day.

Psychologists called by the defense, including Dr Diane Lytton, claimed that the murderer's actions in court, including smiles and smirks, are signs of her mental incapacity to stand trial.

“She has been described as smirky — weird grinning — when she’s talking about the crimes,” Lytton said, adding, “Based on my experience and training, that’s a psychotic person right there.”

Schabusiness allegedly started giggling when it was discussed whether jurors would be shown photos of her ex-lover’s head, which was found by his mother in a bucket at their residence.

Froelich claimed that due to Schebusiness’ mental health, he has made “several” attempts to get a mistrial in the case.

“Should a judge be on a case if they witnessed a fight in the courtroom?” Froelich asked, stating “I heard she tried to flash [the judge] in court. Would that be another reason to get somebody else, another judicial officer? I have no idea.”

Christopher Froelich questions charges against Taylor Schabusiness.

Froelich continued by questioning at least one of the charges leveled against Schabusiness. “How could there be a sexual assault? He’s dead,” the attorney said on Tuesday.

“Once he’s dead, it’s not sexual assault, it’s mutilation of a corpse. Did the jury just go along with it because if she’s guilty of one, she’s probably guilty of all three? I don’t know,” he continued.

Despite the Brown County Court judge’s view that Schabusiness’s crimes “offended human decency,” the victim’s father told her he would “forgive [her] for what [she] did to [his] son,” and that he knew “[she has] a heart, got a mind.”

“I believe everybody makes bad choices, maybe not to this scale. It does no good to hate you,” Michael Thyrion said
