The famed actor and comedian and his partner Paula announced the heartbreaking news of their son Dex's demise on Instagram.
The couple issued a statement that read, "Last night we suffered a terrible tragedy. Our beloved son, Dex, died of an accidental drug overdose. He was 32 years old."
They added, "Dex packed a lot into those 32 years. He was extremely talented at so many things — music, art, film making, comedy — and pursued all of them passionately."
The pair went on to say, "Dex 'most of all, he loved his family, his friends, and his girlfriend, Kaylee. Dex was a beautiful person. His handmade birthday cards are a treasure. We will miss him forever.'"
They concluded by writing, "To anyone struggling with addiction or who loves someone struggling with addiction, you are in our hearts and prayers."
What happened to Dex Carvey?
It has been revealed by Dana and Paula that their eldest son Dex died of an accidental drug overdose.
As per a report byTMZ, Dex died at his Los Angeles home on Wednesday evening. The police authorities rushed to his home after they received a call from his girlfriend around 10 pm.
The police officials have told the media outlet that Dex locked himself in the bathroom and was unresponsive when the cops found him.
The paramedics tried their best to revive Dana's son but they failed to do so. As a result, he was pronounced dead on the scene.
Dex's survivors include his parents, Dana and Paula, and his brother, Thomas.
