Who is Dylan Harrington? Reward doubled for finding 27-year-old man who murdered elderly couple in Washington

OKANOGAN COUNTY, WASHINGTON: In connection to the gruesome double murder of an elderly couple in Washington state, a reward to find the suspect Dylan Harrington has been doubled.

A $10,000 reward is being offered for information on the 27-year-old man which according to Newsweek is twice the amount offered earlier this year by the Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force led by the US Marshal Service (USMS).

Who are Dylan Harrington's victims?

An elderly couple, Dave Covey, 80, and Gerlyn Covey, 66, was found murdered in mid-February 2022 on the Canada-US border in Okanogan County.

They were found dead at their property in Omak and their bodies were discovered burned with a sheet of plywood placed over the couple in an apparent attempt to conceal them.

After the Okanogan County Sheriff's Office detectives discovered the dead bodies of the Coveys, they identified Harrington as a person of interest in the case.

According to the outlet, the suspect is alleged to have shot the elderly couple.

The investigators believe that the alleged killer had been squatting nearby and stealing supplies from the victims' property.

What are the charges against Dylan Harrington?

The 27-year-old man suspected of murdering the Coveys is currently wanted on two counts of unauthorized removal or concealment of a body with national extradition and two counts of first-degree murder, according to the US Marshals Service.

In Washington state, the maximum penalty for a first-degree murder charge is life in prison and a $50,000 fine with the standard range sentence ranging from 20 to 30 years in prison.

In a statement shared in March, US Marshal for the Eastern District of Washington Craig Ellis Thayer stated, "Dylan Harrington is accused of a most heinous crime which demonstrates a clear disregard for human life."

"We will continue to work with our partners at the Okanogan County Sheriff's Office, Washington State Patrol, and US Customs and Border Patrol and use every resource at our disposal to find and bring him to justice," added the US marshal.

Officials have described the suspect Harrington as a white man who has brown hair and hazel eyes. He weighs around 145 pounds and is about five feet nine inches tall.

Law enforcement believes that he is armed and dangerous.

The US Marshals Service has urged anyone with information about Dylan Harrington's location to contact them on their tip line at (866) 865-TIPS (8477) or to submit a tip online through the USMS Tips App.
