Who is Fani Willis' ex-husband? Donald Trump accuses Fulton County DA of having affair with criminal gang member

WINDHAM, NEW HAMPSHIRE: Former President Donald Trump's rally in Windham, New Hampshire took a sharp turn on Tuesday, August 8, as he leveled accusations against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. The allegations center around an alleged relationship between Willis and a gang member, further intensifying the already charged atmosphere surrounding Willis's investigation into Trump's actions during the 2020 presidential election.

Trump's brow-raising claims

Speaking to a large crowd at Windham High School, Trump seized the moment to address the ongoing investigation, stating, "I probably have another [indictment]. They say there's a young woman, a young racist in Atlanta. I guess they say that they were after a certain gang, and she ended up having an affair with the head of the gang, or a gang member." These claims, however, have yet to be substantiated by any credible evidence.

Alina Habba, Trump's attorney, predicted that a fourth indictment against the former president would be unveiled in the coming weeks. In a conversation with Fox News, Habba insinuated a larger narrative of politically motivated prosecutions, stating, "The barricades, the fact that she's got her P.R. team doing fresh pictures for her, it's a good indicator that Fani wants her moment, and she will — she will get on the bandwagon with the rest of the corrupt DAs and A.G.s that we have seen out of this country."

In response, Willis's public statements have remained focused on her role as a prosecutor. "We're ready," Willis affirmed during an interview with Fox 5 Atlanta when asked about the possibility of indicting Trump. Her commitment to pursuing the investigation underscores the seriousness with which she is treating the matter.

Who is Fani Willis' ex-husband?

Fred Willis is the former spouse of Fani Willis, who preceded Paul Howard as Fulton County Attorney. Despite their involvement in political spheres, Fred and his wife prioritize their roles as devoted parents to their two children. Within the context of their marriage, Fred and his wife share the joy of parenting two daughters. The names of their daughters are Nia Kisura Willis, aged 23, and Kinaya Imani Willis, aged 21.

The origins of Trump's allegations against Willis are unclear. The Fulton County DA's own dedication to combating gang-related issues is well-documented. She has consistently blamed gangs for a substantial portion of violent crime in the Atlanta area. To address this problem, she has bolstered the gang unit within her office, advocated for anti-gang legislation, and encouraged law enforcement to obtain more gang-related warrants.

Willis's reputation has been cemented not only by her investigation into Trump but also by her involvement in high-profile cases. Notably, she spearheaded the prosecution of famed rappers Young Thug and Gunna, along with 26 others, who were purported members of the group Drug Rich Gang. This group had been linked to a string of serious criminal activities, including robberies and murders in Atlanta.

The allegations against Willis were amplified through a video released by Trump's campaign, which referenced an interview with Fremondo Crenshaw also known as Mondo, co-founder of Young Stoner Life (YSL). This group is currently facing criminal gang prosecution by Willis's office. The video suggests an undisclosed relationship between Willis and Mondo, hinting at potential impropriety in her handling of the case.

'This is not her character'

In response, Mondo clarified that his relationship with Willis during his defense in 2019 was solely professional. He categorically denied any romantic involvement or attempts to conceal a relationship. He stressed that he has had no contact with Willis since his case concluded and was not in a position to comment on her current actions.

Addressing the situation in a Rolling Stone interview, Mondo shared, "This is not her character, this is not who she is... I done had auntie-to-nephew, mother-to-son type of talks with her. I know this is not her character. This is what made me start looking at [the YSL case] like I know it's bigger than just her. It's politics behind this s**t. It's other people that's behind her pulling strings."

Mondo firmly stated that their relationship had been "cool" during his case, clarifying, "She's almost like, not really street, but she understands what goes on, bro. She understands life to a certain degree. She ain't trying to take all these little Black dudes down. She ain't that type of woman, man. I'm telling you, she's not."

However, Mondo did not claim any relationship beyond that of attorney and client, nor did he accuse Willis of hiding any such relationship. He confirmed that they had not communicated since his case concluded, and his knowledge about her actions was limited to what he had observed about her prosecuting his YSL associates.

In response to these allegations, Willis reaffirmed her professional integrity and commitment to her clients. "When I represented [Mondo], he received 110% effort from me. I advocated for him with zeal. I tend to meet my clients where they are. I hope you understand what that means. I want to see him do amazing things with his life, and I hope that's where he's headed," she said.
