Who is Garrett Smith? Alicia Navarro's neighbor reveals teen argued with unidentified man, yelled ‘I will go back’ a day before reappearance

GLENDALE, ARIZONA: The 18-year-old girl who vanished in Arizona in 2019 and popped up again this week in Montana is said to have argued with the man she was living with and vowed to "go back" the day before turning herself in at a police station.

Residents of an apartment building in Havre, a community about 40 miles from the Canadian border, told The Post that they overheard Alicia Navarro screaming with an unidentified male on Saturday. Neighbor Garrett Smith, 22, told The Post, "I was here the other day and I heard them yelling. She did say, 'I will go back.' But that's all I heard, "It was the day before she turned herself in."

The next day, Navarro strolled into a neighborhood police station and asked to be removed from the missing person's list so she could obtain a driver's license and start living a "normal life," according to investigators.

Since she allegedly "willfully left her home" in Glendale, Arizona, in 2019, she has been reported missing by police. It is unknown how long Navarro has been at the Havre apartment, but according to Smith, she and a male in his 20s have lived there since he did so around a year ago.

Only days before Navarro went to the police station, Smith said he first spoke to her when she stated she was "looking for her uncle" nearby a post office. Smith said, "She was asking for directions. She looked scared." He added, it was clear she didn't know her way around the area.

Smith said, "She said she was walking with her uncle and got lost and she's looking for 6th Street, I later found out that she was referring to him as her uncle," as reported by NewYorkPost.

Smith was addressed by Navarro as 'mister'

Megan Alexander, 23, Smith's girlfriend, said that they saw Navarro enter a "random house" and assumed that she had located somebody who might assist her. Smith was addressed by Navarro as "mister," which the 22-year-old man thought weird given that she wasn't much younger.

He claimed that the adolescent had a "scratchy voice," seemed frightened, and had visibly poor oral hygiene. Smith said, "Her braces looked pretty bad. She had braces on when she went missing in Arizona in 2019. It looked like she still had the same braces on."

'I would see both of them walking out. A lot of times..'

Smith thinks that while residing at the apartment, he saw the missing girl roughly 30 times, however, this was the first time he ever spoke to her. He remarked, "I would see both of them walking out. A lot of times. They may have been holding hands once when they left."
