Jeremy Diaz hasn't emerged from coma

Jeremy Diaz continues to remain in a coma as of Monday morning, September 18, according to the GoFundMe campaign set up for his support.

"As of this morning, the doctors are puzzled at the unexpected movements he is showing in all his limbs, as it was not expected," his father wrote.

The campaign has successfully raised over $200,000 towards its initial goal of $250,000. He is scheduled for further examinations, including an MRI, to assess his condition and aid in his recovery.

Diaz was described as "a bright, vibrant child with a heart full of dreams and a future brimming with potential."

His father told KVUE that his son had recently achieved several milestones, including receiving a new belt in jiu-jitsu, playing his first soccer match, and studying Chinese characters.

"He was telling his mama on the way home [that] he just couldn't wait to start the week, to go back to jiu-jitsu, tie the belt. And the last thing I told him when he got covered [was], ‘See you in the morning.’ He was so eager to go to sleep."
