EL DORADO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA: Jonathan Martinez Garcia has been sentenced for brutally raping and injuring his teacher after a class. The horrific incident took place in April 2022, at the El Dorado High School, California, after he asked his teacher, who only identifies herself as Sade, for a moment to talk about his grades. As soon as she turned her back, he tried to choke her with a ‘rope or string,’ as per the court document. The attack resulted in the woman being pushed forcefully into a table, causing her head to strike it and resulting in loss of consciousness. He threw a bookshelf on her and sat on it. After that, the 17-year-old student slashed her wrists and said, “Can’t you die already?”

Sade opened up about the incident and said she has been "imprisoned mentally and physically." "It only makes sense that he too should be in prison for as long as possible,” she said, as reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “This isn’t because I hate him or want any sort of suffering for him … but like I said, I just no longer feel those feelings," she added.

'Who is Johnathan Martinez-Garcia'

Johnathan Martinez-Garcia was a student of El Dorado High School in California, who has been sentenced to a prison term ranging from 16 to 40 years for raping and assaulting his teacher. The teen pleaded guilty to the attempted murder charge and was captured smirking when his crime was stated in court. “I regret what I’ve done. I also regret the things I should have done, but didn’t do.”

While talking about the attack, Sade said, “He beat my body so badly that I couldn't fight. One of the times I woke, I found myself trapped under heavy shelves that he toppled over me to where my breathing was suppressed, and I was being crushed to near death." She added, “I truly believed with everything in me that I was going to die right there under those shelves.”

'For the rest of her life'

Chief Deputy District Attorney William Rowles said, “I firmly believe that there are still certain crimes and still certain conduct that requires a punitive punishment,” reports the Daily Mail. Sade’s mother also made the appearance in court, “For the rest of her life, her last memory of teaching is going to be this student, trying to kill her,” she said to the judge.
