LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: If there’s one person who wouldn’t turn down a challenge, it is Mark Consuelos, especially when it comes to ‘Live with Kelly and Mark'. Kelly Ripa and Mark both work hard to make their live show unique which also means taking on new challenges. Sometimes that can even include getting choked and pinned down by MMA fighter Juan Archuleta.
Mark and Kelly recently invited Archuleta, a seasoned martial artist to ‘Live'. While the conversation was interesting, the segment wouldn’t have been complete without a physical demonstration of his skills. The person going against Archuleta in the segment was none other than Mark himself, with a worried Kelly watching the fight from the edge of the ring. Amidst the chokes and body slams, there was only one winner.
Who is Juan Archuleta?
Archuleta, 35, has been a professional MMA fighter for a decade now and often competes in Bellator MMA and Rizin Fighting Federation. He studied at Sultana High School and Purdue University. He started out as an amateur wrestler. The MMA fighter has also held the title of Bellator Bantamweight World Champion, and as of 2022, he ranks third in the Bellator Bantamweight rankings. Over the last decade, Archuleta has perfected the craft as he presented some basic techniques for Mark on 'Live'. He managed to pin down the host with extreme ease.
'Oh boy'
Kelly stood between the two men as she held her mic and Mark’s nervousness was quite visible on his face. She asked, “Archuleta are you ready? Consuelos are you ready?” As Archuleta began his demonstration, Kelly quickly excused herself from the scene, letting the two men do their thing. Archuleta began with a few punch demonstrations. He then pinned Mark to the ground with extreme ease. Mark laughed it off with a smile on his face.
Next, Archuleta began choking Mark as he explained the process and it doesn’t take Mark long to say, “I’m choking, I’m choking,” while still trying to laugh it off, making sure his guest knew it was all in jest.
Mark definitely shows off some of his skills too even though they were not as good as Archuleta's. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the segment of ‘Live’ as they cheered on and laughed, especially when Mark lets out a little “oh boy” when being pinned down by Archuleta for a second time. Meanwhile, Kelly simply looked at her husband with a mix of worry and excitement on her face. Looks like the couple is back and better than ever after their summer vacation in Greece.
