TULARE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA: Former Sheriff’s sergeant Richard Ray Ramirez has been arrested again after attacking his girlfriend. The convict was on parole when the incident took place.
Ramirez is likely to face a life sentence for reportedly beating the 26-year-old and not allowing her to leave.

The man was taken back to prison on Sunday, October 8, and booked with one count of torture, one count of injury to a significant other after a prior conviction, and one count of kidnapping, as per the official statement.
Prosecutors said Ramirez, who is a former sergeant with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, is responsible for “causing cruel and extreme pain and suffering for the purpose of revenge, extortion, persuasion” at the time of the reported attack.
On Tuesday, October 10, a press release was issued by the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office focusing on his previous run-ins with the law.
“The charges are enhanced with special allegations that Ramirez possesses prior serious felony convictions, strikes, and served a prison term, that he was in a position of trust, that the crimes were committed while on parole, and that the crimes included the personal infliction of great bodily injury under circumstances of domestic violence,” the authorities said.
He has pleaded not guilty during the arraignment process. “Ramirez entered a not guilty plea and remains in custody on no bail. A preliminary hearing conference / bail hearing is scheduled for October 19, 2023, in Department 3. If convicted of all charges, Ramirez faces life in prison,” as per court records.
There were visible signs of injury on the victim, say police
According to the police, there were visible signs of physical abuse on the victim’s body, whose nose was broken and “bent towards the right side of her face,” reports KFSN.
His girlfriend also had visible bruising around her neck and a broken wrist when she was thrown off by Ramirez on asphalt out of a truck, as per Law and Crime.
While the police handcuffed Ramirez and took him into custody, he told the officer, “Dude, nothing happened,” as per the outlet.
The victim told police that she and Ramirez started seeing each other four months ago before the relationship took a violent turn.
She reportedly said that the accused had been drinking alcohol and using a form of controlled substance.
Ramirez was living at McAuliff Street and Walnut Avenue, the Visalia Times Delta reported. It is located approximately 50 miles southeast of Fresno, California.
