HYDE PARK, LONDON: Lana Del Rey delivered a deeply personal and emotional performance at Hyde Park, London, on Sunday, July 9, while unveiling new lyrics for her song 'Chemtrails Over The Country Club'. As the singer belted out the modified words, fans quickly realized that Rey was possibly shading her ex-boyfriend Sean Larkin through her newly added lyrics.
"He's born in December and got married when we were still together. He got married when we were in couple's therapy together, sometimes I wonder what his wife would think if she knew," the 'Summetime Sadness' hitmaker sang, allegedly alluding to Larkin's December 7 birthday and his wedding to Carey Cadieux. Last year, Rey shaded Larkin by only promoting her upcoming LP 'Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd' in his hometown Tulsa.
At the time, the singer earned praises for "pettiness" after she posted a selfie of herself in a car posing in front of a billboard of her LP erected in Tulsa. The photo was allegedly shared on Rey's private Instagram account with the caption, "There’s only one and it’s in Tulsa." When a fan asked the singer why she chose Tulsa as the location to promote her work, Rey replied, "It’s. Personal."
What is known about Sean Larkin's wife Carey Cadieux?
Larkin married Cadieux in January 2022 but the couple have mostly kept their private life away from the public eye. The former dated Rey for several months before the pair decided to part ways in 2020. Shortly after, it was revealed that the former police sergeant turned reality TV star started dating Cadieux. The duo was also reported to be engaged after a while. Although it was reported that Rey and Larkin had an amicable split, the latter's relationship with Cadieux came under scrutiny after Rey began shading her ex boyfriend through her music.
Earlier this year, Rey sang an alternative version of 'A&W', which included the lyrics, "I had no idea you were engaged."
