LONDON, ENGLAND: According to new paparazzi images published by Page Six, Canadian actress Taylor Russell and former One Direction singer Harry Styles appear to have publicly acknowledged their relationship.
Several images obtained by Page Six show the rumored couple having a private moment following Russell's performance of 'The Effect' at London's National Theatre on Thursday night.
Who is Taylor Russell?
Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, actress Taylor Russell McKenzie is best known for her roles in independent films like 'Waves' and 'Bones and All.'
Taylor spent most of her childhood living with her mother's family and has previously described feeling excluded from her peers as a child because of her skin color.
Russell is a native of Deep Cove in Vancouver, where as a child she enjoyed playing on the beach, looking for crabs, and catching jellyfish. She earlier claimed that her family moved 16 times to support her father's acting profession.
Russell earlier told Deadline she had worked many odd jobs before beginning her acting career, "I've worked since I was 13 years old. So many random things." However, she followed in her father's footsteps and enrolled in her first acting class at the age of 18 to never look back.
She mentioned one of the "giant differences" between Canada and its southern neighbor when she first arrived in America. In a 2019 radio interview with Rickey Smiley, she claimed that "people are so forthcoming with their opinions in America, and it’s not the same in Canada."
Russell most recently left the movie set and took the stage to play Connie in a UK production of 'The Effect.'
Having spent her entire life studying the dance form, Russell is also a ballet dancer.
Taylor Russell's acting career
Russell made her acting debut in an episode of the CW drama series 'Emily Owens, MD' in 2012. Russell's big break came in 2018 when she played Judy Robinson in the Netflix series 'Lost In Space,' which was based on the 1960s series of the same name.
Along with parts in 'Strange Empire,' 'Falling Skies,' 'Dead of Summer,' and 'Before I Fall,' Russell played Lark Voorhies in the Lifetime TV movie 'The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story' in 2014 and Jennifer in the Disney XD movie 'Pants on Fire.'
Additionally, Russell was cast in the starring role of Zoey Davis in the psychological horror film 'Escape Room.'
Russell gained international fame last year as Timothee Chalamet's co-star in the movie 'Bones and All,' which had its global premiere at the Venice Film Festival.
Also, she won the Gotham Independent Film Award for Breakthrough Actor in 2019 for her performance in the 'Waves', which followed a suburban African American family as they deal with a tragic loss.
In 2023, Russell played the lead role in 'The Effects' at The National Theater. Along with Samantha Leaf, she took a seat behind the lens to helm the 'The Heart Still Hums' documentary.
She has also delved into the fashion industry, serving as the global ambassador for Loewe and opening the SS23 collection.
The stunning Canadian previously appeared for companies like Balenciaga, Schiaparelli, and Ralph Lauren, and she launched the Spanish fashion house's spring-summer 2023 runway show.
Taylor Russell and Harry Styles spotted together in London
Recently, at 'The Effect' performance in London, donning a black jacket, Styles was seen putting his arm around Russell's waist. The 'Bones and All' star, who was decked out in a strapless chocolate brown dress, then put her hand on the singer's shoulder.
The two can be seen smiling and leaning close to one another. A source informed the outlet that the two appeared to be holding hands and were seen smiling and laughing together in photos.
The source stated that it appeared as though they were holding hands. "Harry stayed by Taylor’s side the whole time. He introduced her to James [Corden] and was whispering to her and laughing and smiling."
They seemingly went to the afterparty together as well. The source claimed that Styles carried Russell's suitcase and purse out of the event through a side door before the two departed in the same car.
The source continued, "It looked like Taylor was on the phone to Harry when she left the theater, telling him where to pick her up. They are clearly trying to keep their romance under the radar and avoid being photographed together."
The two initially ignited dating rumors in June 2023 when TMZ published images of Russell "in what appears to be a VIP tent" at Styles' Love On Tour show in Vienna.
