Who was Jasmyn Lambert? Beloved 3rd-grade teacher shot dead by estranged husband after breaking into her house twice in one day

ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Jasmyn Lambert, 37, was an elementary school teacher and a mother of two. She was allegedly killed by her estranged husband, Tyron Victor Lambert, 42, on October 28, according to a press release issued by the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office.

Jasmyn taught third grade at Still Elementary School in Powder Springs, a small town in Cobb County.

Tyron is confronted with a wide array of charges related to her death, encompassing murder, home invasion, criminal damage to property, and more.

Additionally, he is charged with cruelty to children, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Tyron Victor Lambert broke into Jasmyn Lambert's residence twice

Authorities initially arrived at the victim's home following a report of a home invasion made by a visitor. According to reports, Tyron had forcibly entered the residence through the back door while being armed.

“During the course of the unwelcomed visit, a domestic dispute ensued and Tyron Lambert pointed a gun and threatened multiple individuals while inside the home,” the press release read.

The press release also stated, "When Tyron Lambert learned that law enforcement had been contacted, he fled the scene prior to their arrival. Paulding Deputies made a report, began the process to seek warrants for his arrest, placed the residence on zone patrol, and placed a 'Be On The Lookout' (BOLO) out via dispatch for Tyron Lambert and his vehicle."

The measures did not suffice, as the officials received a second 911 call hours later.

The press release further mentioned, "The caller indicated that Tyron Lambert was back at the residence and that he had forced entry to the residence through the back door that he had entered through in the previous incident and that he was armed with a gun again."

According to the statement, officials rushed to the scene but arrived too late. They reported hearing a single gunshot just before gaining entry.

"Deputies immediately made their way around to the side and back of the residence because Tyron Lambert was trying to flee on foot. After a brief struggle, Deputies were eventually able to subdue Tyron Lambert and get him in custody," the statement added.

Jasmyn was discovered shot inside the house and was transported to Wellstar Paulding Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Tyron is currently held at Paulding County jail without bond

A statement by a spokesperson of Cobb County Schools read, "It is with great sadness that we share the passing of one of our third-grade teachers. Jasmyn Lambert’s big smile was welcoming to all, her classroom couldn’t wait to see her every day. Our hearts go out to her family, friends, and the entire Still community who already miss her."

"Grief counselors are at school this week to support students and staff and we do ask you to give our school family privacy during this time of grief,” the school statement stated.
