CINCINNATI, OHIO: A missing woman’s search operation ended on a very tragic note as her body was discovered in a vehicle. The remains of Kaitlyn Lynch, who was reportedly abducted from Cincinnati, Ohio, were located inside her own vehicle in Cheatham County, Tennessee, on August 19, 2023.
The 36-year-old woman died after allegedly being fatally shot by a 32-year-old man named Lance Miller, PEOPLE reported. The Abbott, Texas, man has now been detained inside a Tennessee jail cell after being slapped with murder and kidnapping charges.
When did Kaitlyn Lynch go missing?
Lynch, a mother of two, was reportedly kidnapped on August 18. According to an official statement, as reported by PEOPLE, “A victim might have been injured and held against her will in her vehicle that was taken.”
GoFundMe set up for Kaitlyn Lynch
A GoFundMe has been started for Lynch's family following her death. The message posted on the fundraiser reads, “Kaitlyn was shot and killed inside her car parked outside of her home in Ohio.”
It continues, “The suspect, someone she knew, then made his way into the driver seat, with Kaitlyn left dying in the passenger seat and he began driving. After a long police pursuit, the suspect was apprehended by authorities in Tennessee.”
“Kaitlyn’s family is overwhelmed with emotions. Anyone who knew Kaitlyn knew how much she loved being a mom to her two beautiful daughters,” the GoFundMe states, before adding, “Kaitlyn needs to be brought home to be with her family so that she can have the memorial that she deserves.
“We are asking for donations to help cover the immense financial burden that comes along with something as complicated and sudden as this," the GoFundMe page further read.
People paid their tribute below it with one person writing, "Dan, no words can express how very, very sorry we are. Our deepest condolence for your loss."
Another person said, "So sorry for your loss my condolences to you and the family." "My heart goes out to Kaitlyn's family!!! I am so sorry for your loss!!" another person added.

It has been said that there was a romantic relationship between the victim and the suspect. Lynch was a widow and Miller was her late husband’s friend, WLWT reported.

Kaitlyn Lynch's boss James Hartke has expressed his grief after her death. He shared, “I have a sense of a personal loss because she's gonna be gone out of everyone's life.”
“She was a really nice person, really kind. And I'm very sad but so is everybody here. She made friends with a lot of the girls here,” Hartke added.
