LEWISTON, MAINE: Maxx Hathaway, 35, one of the victims of the Maine mass shooting on October 25, was a full-time, stay-at-home dad of two children. He tragically has also left behind his pregnant wife.

Hathaway was at the Schemengees Bar and Grill in Lewiston when the gunman opened fire.

The suspect, Robert Card, killed 18 people and injured 13 others in two locations, a bowling alley and Schemengees Bar.

Card, 40, was found dead in the woods near the Androscoggin River in the Lisbon Falls area around 7.45 pm on October 27.

Maxx Hathaway was going to dad for third time

Hathaway was working on completing his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration at the University of Southern Maine and was planning on joining tthe workforce again after graduating.

His wife, Brenda Hathaway, is pregnant with their third child, due in a little over a month.

"Maxx Hathaway was a beloved husband, son, brother, father, and skilled pool player," said the family statement released after Maxx's death.

"He was a goofy, down-to-earth person, loved to joke around, and always had an uplifting attitude no matter what was going on," said Maxx's sister Kelsay Hathaway on the d GoFundMe fundraiser page.

"Brenda (his wife), the girls, his family, and friends meant the world to him, and his loss will be felt among the communities that he was a part of and grew up in."

Accrdng to a CNN report, Maxx's wife, Brenda, was with him at the bar on the night of the shooting. Brenda told the Boston Globe she left early as their toddler started getting fussy, and Maxx stayed to play pool.

Over $110K raised on GoFundMe to support Maxx Hathaway's family

Maxx's sister Kelsay organized the GoFundMe fundraiser to support her late brother's wife and children.

"With what support we can get, we would love to be able to provide Brenda with assistance for childcare, celebration of life, groceries, etc since she will soon have a new member of the family," wrote the devastated sister on the GoFundMe page.

Maxx's other sister, Courtney Hathaway, shared her grief in a separate social media post.

Sharing the GoFundMe link on Facebook, she wrote, "Nothing really prepares you for the sudden and shocking loss of a loved one, especially when it happens in such a tragedy. I'm asking that everyone who is able to help, please help. "

As of October 28 morning, the campaign has raised more than $110K from around 1800 donations.
