Who was Shad Thyrion? Taylor Schabusiness deemed fit to stand trial for strangling and dismembering Green Bay resident

BROWN COUNTY, WISCONSIN: The trial of a Wisconsin woman who is charged with the murder and mutilation of a man in Green Bay will start on Monday, July 24, after a judge deemed her fit to defend herself. Shad Thyrion was allegedly strangled at a Green Bay residence in February 2022 by Taylor Schabusiness, 25, who was charged with first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, and third-degree sexual assault.

Schabusiness is also charged with sexually assaulting Thyrion, dismembering him, and dispersing pieces of him all around the house and inside a car. The suspect pleaded not guilty and not guilty by reason of mental illness or defect in relation to the crimes. A judge determined in March that the 25-year-old was fit to face trial, as per Fox News.

Who was Shad Thyrion?

Shad Thyrion, a Wisconsin resident, was 25 when Taylor Schabusiness reportedly murdered him inside his mother's Green Bay house in February 2022. The victim's mother Tara Pakanich allegedly discovered his head in a bucket in her basement on February 23 after she saw a light on there. She informed the cops that she was aware that Thyrion and a 25-year-old woman named Schabusiness were down there the previous evening. Although she didn't see anyone downstairs, the complainant claimed that on her way back up, she came upon a "bucket next to the bottom of the stairs." Shabusiness was held on a $2 million cash bond and accused of third-degree sexual assault, first-degree intentional homicide, and mutilating a corpse.

'A kind and compassionate person'

Thyrion's family created a GoFundMe campaign to assist with his mother's relocation and funeral expenses. Thyrion, who was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, in 1997, reportedly attended Bay Port High School with the accused woman. They left the institution without receiving degrees, reported The Sun. Thyrion had been arrested in 2021 for disorderly conduct and resisting an officer. His obituary notes that he was "a kind and compassionate person...a talented artist, he also enjoyed wood carving." Nathan Mineau, Thyrion's uncle, called his alleged killer a "monster" and described his death as "devastating".
