Why did MrBeast mock viewership of iconic series 'Big Bang Theory' and 'Succession' on Twitter?

GREENVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA: Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, is a well-known YouTuber, philanthropist, and businessman. He became well-known because of his YouTube videos, which featured massive challenges, altruistic endeavors, and attention-grabbing exploits.

On June 1, 2023, MrBeast trolled HBO’s legendary TV shows 'Big Bang Theory' and Succession’s finale viewership numbers on Twitter. He compared the underwhelming viewership of these series to that of his own YouTube videos.

‘They make numbers that low?’

In response to a message discussing the audience figures for the two series' finale, MrBeast responded on Twitter with the question "They make numbers that low?" He said that the figures were unacceptably low. MrBeast was not wrong when he said this because the show ‘Big Bang Theory’ had a record viewership of 18 million when the show was at its peak where Succession’s finale episode could only gather 2.9 million views.

Comparatively, MrBeast’s last video had 100 million views and it is quite logical when he mocked the famous shows. Millions of people subscribe to and watch billions of videos on his YouTube channel. Due to his distinctive content and dedication to give back, he has been able to amass a devoted following. MrBeast has increased his presence on other media sites including Twitter and Instagram in addition to YouTube.

‘I’d never even heard of Succession’

MrBeast’s tweet had mixed reactions from his fans. A user named commented, “I’d never even heard of Succession until Mr Beast commented on a post about it.” Another user commented, “I would be interested to see if a YouTuber could make it on TV. Dude Perfect tried and failed. I would think Jimmy would have a good chance at making it, maybe on Nickelodeon?” “It’s funny Jimmy just absolutely dwarfing every TV show with every video within 1 day of release,” someone else tweeted.
