On Thursday, July 6th, during the 'Today' broadcast, Sheinelle Jones anchored the segment alongside co-hosts Craig Melvin and Dylan Dreyer. The three of them burst into laughter after Jones had an unusual on-air moment, and Melvin playfully imitated her action on camera. Earlier last month, Jones shared rarely-seen snapshots of her husband with their children as they enjoyed a weekend getaway to celebrate their twins, Uche and Clara's 11th birthday at the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

During a lighthearted moment on the daytime TV show, the hosts engaged in a conversation about the Fourth of July. Following Dylan's weather forecast, Jones introduced the next segment, discussing an Independence Day hot dog eating competition. She explained, “The rain may have postponed the men's competition in Nathan's Fourth of July hot dog eating contest...” In a humorous turn of events, Jones unintentionally exaggerated the word "fourth" by raising all four fingers, resulting in a moment of confusion and laughter from Dylan. Recognizing her own mishap, Jones joined in the laughter, while Melvin observed the situation with a slow head shake. Jones then playfully begged, "Leave me alone," as she attempted to continue the segment.
In a playful response, Melvin humorously imitated Jones by also raising four fingers, which elicited a playful reaction from his TV co-star.
