Will Joe Rogan be one of the commentators for UFC 291? Fight cards, date and other details

AUSTIN, TEXAS: On Saturday, July 29, 2023, UFC 291 will take place in Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States. The eagerly anticipated rematch between Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje will take place at the Delta Center. Moreover, Joe Rogan will be a part of the elite commentators' panel.

Former UFC star Chael Sonnen's return is the crew's main attraction. According to MMA Junkie, the 46-year-old will make a comeback to the post-fight program as an analyst after nearly a year and a half away. In March 2022, he made his final appearance on UFC 272.

Will Joe Rogan commentate?

Former UFC title contender Anthony Smith and renowned MMA instructor Din Thomas will join three-time UFC championship challenger Chael Sonnen for the post-fight analysis. Michael Eaves, a veteran broadcaster, will serve as the presenter of the post-fight program.

According to MMA Junkie, Jon Anik will be in charge of the cage-side commentary with color analysts Joe Rogan and UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier.

Pre- and post-fight commentary will be provided by Bruce Buffer, the most well-known octagon announcer in history. In contrast, Megan Olivi will serve as the roaming reporter and handle the backstage pre- and post-fight interviews.

Dustin Poirier vs Justin Gaethje

The UFC is returning to Salt Lake City after UFC 278 in August 2022. The campaign is also making its third trip to this city in Utah. On Saturday night, there will be some bloody fights inside the Octagon.

A rematch between former interim UFC Lightweight Champions is scheduled as the headline fight. Poirier, who was born in Lafayette, Louisiana, will face Gaethje, who was born in Safford, Arizona. The symbolic "BMF" (Baddest MotherF****r) title will also be on the line for contention among the American warriors. After retiring in April, Jorge Masvidal gave up the "BMF" championship.

On April 14, 2018, Poirier and Gaethje fought for the first time in more than five years. Poirier prevailed in their fight at the UFC on Fox event in Glendale, Arizona.

Among the other matches is Alex Pereira's light-heavyweight debut against former champion Jan Blachowicz. Stephen Thompson, a former contender for the UFC Welterweight Championship, will square off against Michel Pereira. Micahel Chiesa will compete against Kevin Holland in a welterweight main event. Tony Ferguson will compete against Bobby Green in the lightweight class on the main program.
