WWE CEO explains why part-timers Logan Paul and Bad Bunny are 'good' for them

STAMFORD, CONNECTICUT: Over the years, WWE has been successful in bringing out legendary players who have become multiple champions in their career. Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins are among the prime examples. However, there are many part-timers as well who have made a name for themselves in WWE in the past few years.

WWE CEO Nick Khan spoke about Logan Paul and Bad Bunny's value to the company in a recent interview, discussing the benefits of the current celebrity engagement for WWE from a financial standpoint.

‘Good for us’

During the interview, Khan said, “We sat there on Bad Bunny and this guy, who was not yet the No. 1 artist, but certainly seemed on a path to that, he was not touring. He was sitting at home [during the COVID-19 pandemic] like all the rest of us. We reached out to him, 'What do you think of this?' 'Yeah, I'd love to do it.' He came in, lo and behold, our Spanish viewership on the show he was on spiked by 30 or 40 percent. Obviously, the relevancy factor mattered. He wanted to do more and more.”

Khan added, “We also replicated that in a different demographic category with Logan Paul, who we were getting pitched on internally by our entertainment relations folks. 'Logan Paul is going to be the next big thing.' He came in and took it seriously, as did Bad Bunny. It registered. It mattered. Our young audience spiked. Our bread and butter are our full-time Superstars, but to be able to bring in Bad Bunny and Logan Paul and Pat McAfee at different points, it just increases awareness, which is good for us.”

At the 2021 Royal Rumble, Grammy Award-winning musician Bunny made his WWE debut. He later made his in-ring debut at WrestleMania 37 when he joined Damian Priest to take on The Miz and John Morrison. Recently, Bunny participated in the Backlash VIP live event in Puerto Rico.

Logan Paul: The Enigma

Paul, who has a sizable fan base on YouTube and other social media platforms, has been equally important to WWE in terms of attracting new viewers just like Bad Bunny.

Paul took a Stunner from Kevin Owens following the Kevin Owens versus Sami Zayn match at WrestleMania 37, but his first in-ring appearance came at WrestleMania 38. As The Miz's tag team partner against Rey and Dominik Mysterio, he made an immediate impression. Since then, he has been a regular wrestler for WWE, competing every few months.

Paul had a fantastic run at WrestleMania 39 in May, in addition to his phenomenally amazing performance against undisputed WWE global champion Roman Reigns in 2022.

Bunny and Paul have prospered in terms of devoting themselves to their performances and demonstrating that they cared about becoming professional sports performers, in addition to attracting diverse audiences to WWE.

Celebrity engagement has always been significant to WWE, but with the simultaneous addition of Bunny and Paul, the company now has two of the finest celebrity performers it has ever had.
