Barcelona manager Xavi has confirmed that fans can expect news of his new contract in the coming days.
90min revealed earlier this month that an agreement had been reached over a new three-year deal for the boss, although reports in Spain have since suggested Barcelona have changed their offer to just two years.
While the final length of his new contract remains unclear, what is certain is that Xavi is set to put pen to paper imminently.
"I have spoken about [renewing] with Deco, the president, Mateu [Alemany] and the board," he admitted. "For me performance is important. If there are no objectives, a long contract is not worth it. This is about performance and achieving success based on titles.
"The Barca coach has pressure, but I will never be a problem. I am very excited. My renewal will be announced shortly, in a few days."
Xavi also took the opportunity to laugh at his recent nomination for The Best FIFA Manager award, admitting he is more concerned about team success.
"The amount of criticism [the media] have given me and yet I've been nominated for The Best," he laughed. "It seems like a joke.
"It's the team's job. I don't give it much importance. I didn't give it much importance as a player. It's about prioritising the collective success. There's a president, a board, but the protagonists are the footballers.
"I don't give it too much importance. I laugh sometimes."
