LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jimmy Kimmel poked fun at Trump's "creeps" dig at late-night TV show hosts during his monologue on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' on his second day back at work, and the internet reacted immediately.
Kimmel remarked during his second-night monologue that "not everyone is glad to see us" after 150 days on strike and presented an example of a "loyal viewer" who wrote on the internet at 1.05 am to express his "displeasure."
Kimmel tweeted a video on X, formerly Twitter, with the caption, "A late night TANTRUMP from our #1 fan!"
The show returned to delight viewers on Monday, October 2 after a five-month hiatus due to the Hollywood writers' strike.
Jimmy Kimmel mocks Trump's 'creeps' jab
In the video, Kimmel read out the tweet, "Now that the "strike" is over, the talentless, low-rated CREEPS of Late Night Television are back. I Knew there was a reason I didn't want to see it settled- true LOSERS!!!"
"From real Donal Trump, this from a man who is such a loser he buried his ex-wife on a golf course just so he could continue to cheat on her," Kimmel quickly added when the tweet was completed, and the audience burst out laughing.
The host continued, "I love that with everything he's got going on running for president, 91 felony charges, a $250 million fraud trial he still finds time to watch his favorite late-night shows and tantrum about them," and read out the tweet again.
Kimmel went on, "I have to say the way he worded that it almost reads like a network promo." He did, however, offer the former president some credit.
"In fairness, you can’t really argue with him. The man really does know talentless loser creeps. In fact, he fathered two of them," Kimmel said, then cut to a video of Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump.
Internet reacts to Jimmy Kimmel's jibe
"If Trump is snapping at Jimmy and Colbert, it means Jimmy and Colbert have touched a nerve. I love it," a user commented on YouTube.
Another wrote, "Thanks a lot Jimmy! I watched your show, and I watched that kid explain 'money' and now I just feel old, stupid and depressed..... a bit like Donald Trump."
"No night is complete without my dose of Kimmel," noted one user. Another fan wrote, "I watched that pursuit last night. It was wild. Also, I am so glad that the talentless low rated creeps of late night are back in action."
"Just so great to have your hilarious Trump commentary - so funny," claimed one fan.
"He buried his ex wife on his golf course just so he could continue to cheat on her" Epic @JimmyKimmelLive," tweeted another.
