LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A conversation about celebrity divorces on 'The View' quickly turned into the co-hosts talking about Joy Behar's age. Behar will be turning 81 in October this year and is currently the oldest co-host on the panel. Behar comes to ‘The View’ with decades of experience on the panel, along with being a comedian and even previously hosting her own show.
As the co-hosts discussed the divorces in Hollywood ad beyond, they eventually applauded Behar for her age, who also proudly joined in on the conversation. Behar moderated Friday’s segment as she ended the season finale of ‘The View’ on a powerful and happy note.
‘Let’s not point fingers’
Behar introduced the topic to her co-hosts and gave the examples of Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie, along with Sophia Vergara and Ariana Grande amongst those getting a divorce. The co-hosts discussed the reason for the spike in divorces, especially after the pandemic, which impacted several people. Sara Haines also mentioned how people are “living longer now,” but before she could finish her train of thought, Behar interrupted her. Behar said, “Well, remember I used to say that people die at 40…now they get divorced, same thing.” As the co-hosts and audience laughed at Behar’s sense of humor, Ana Navarro chimed in, “That’s right, because it's now where an 80-year-old is vibrant, is full of life.” Haines, who sat next to Behar secretly pointed at Behar and said, “Let’s not point fingers.”
‘I am 80 freaking years old’
Behar tried to speak through the applause as she shrugged, “You know, my age is all over the internet now, so I don’t give a damn anymore, that I am 80 freaking years old.” Navarro pointed at Behar and said, “You are young enough to run for President.” At this, Behar rolled her eyes, “It’s a joke, I can’t get over it, can you imagine being this old? I can’t even imagine.” Navarro once again chimed in, “The reason why people can’t get over your age is because you look damn good.” Navarro also called Behar a “hot silver fox.” Behar had two pieces of advice when Hostin asked for the “secret,” one was marrying a younger man, which was prompted by Navarro, and Behar agreed, and the second, was sunscreen. Alyssa Farah Griffin also added that Behar was wearing Gucci high heels before they moved on from the topic.
