'And Just Like That' Season 2 Episode 2 Review: Miranda, Charlotte, Seema, and Nya's unspoken turmoil

Spoiler for ‘And Just Like That’ Season 2 Episode 2

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: HBO rom-com ‘And Just Like That’ Season 2 has dropped its first two episodes and we’re all reminiscing ‘Sex and the City’ escapades. The second episode in Season 2 of ‘And Just Like That’ explores more into the lives of Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda as they navigate their relationships. Although the new season chronicles new faces and a lot of input in their lives, the central theme is still circled friendship, love, and self-discovery.

In Episode 2 of ‘And Just Like That’ Season 2, Miranda, who dropped her study career to live with Che in Los Angeles is finding it difficult to figure out their relationship, especially after a hurtful discovery. Meanwhile, Charlotte is struggling to keep up with her modern children and gets obsessed with regaining the Chanel dress that Lily sold to buy a keyboard. And Carrie has her turmoil which ended up with Carrie without a job, the downfall of the ‘Sex and the City’ podcast, and the end to her so-called dating with Franklyn. Seema, Nya, and Lisa somehow manage their emotions and eventually become the main characters of this season as they cover the almost equal screen as Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda. Let’s see what’s in store for them this season.

Charlotte’s struggle being a parent to two modern children

Charlotte’s daughter, Lily, has developed a keen interest in refining her piano skills. Despite the unfortunate incident that occurred during her previous recital, she decides to venture into the realm of music again and considers purchasing a new keyboard. To fund her new endeavor, Lily sells some of her designer clothes, including her Chanel dress. As Lily debuts her new moody track titled “The Power of Privilege”, she inadvertently earns herself the nickname “Lily Eilish”. However, the reception to her song is less than favorable, with the lyrics and overall theme coming across as cringe-worthy. The track seems to embody a sense of teenage angst and explores the concept of privilege, but it fails to resonate in a meaningful way. Meanwhile, Charlotte is obsessed with finding the Chanel dress, but ends up leaving it behind the ‘Real Deal’.

Who is Che’s husband?

On the West Coast, Miranda finds herself stranded in Malibu after she lost her phone on the beach. As Che arranges for Lyle to pick up Miranda, but to her surprise, it turns out that Che is still legally married to him. What's even more astonishing is how quickly Miranda is convinced to brush off this revelation. Che downplays the situation, and with just a few kisses, Miranda seemingly forgets the entire ordeal. This contrasts with her past behavior in the original series when she walked out on a date at a comedy club upon discovering that he was separated but not yet divorced from his wife. It appears that Miranda's current actions and choices are somewhat out of character because she has never experienced such a profound impact of love before. Che serves as the "core shaker" unlike any of her previous partners, including her ex-husband, Steve Brady. This unexpected influence has softened Miranda in ways we never anticipated. Our independent queen who never worried about being self-sufficient now has something at stake, and it is evident in her demeanor.

Seema gets back to Zed only to leave him again

In Episode 1, Seema actually gives up her Met Ball tickets to meet the son of her beau, Zed, and accepted to meet his ex-wife, Victorie. This step disclosed how important Zed is to her. However, when she finds out Zed still lives in her ex-wife’s house, she leaves him. But in episode 2, she gets back to him despite Zed’s narcissistic behavior. There is indeed cause for concern regarding Seema's tendency to return to men who have treated her poorly. It's disheartening to see that she easily gives in to Zed's attempts to win her back with just a few texts, even after he deceived her by withholding information about his home life. Likewise, her decision to reconcile with her emotionally abusive hair stylist after a heated argument at another salon is troubling. Apparently, she again ends up leaving Zed when she finds out that his texts weren’t actually to win her back, but rather was an intent for business purpose.

Meanwhile, Nya scraps Andre’s belongings from her apartment after learning he was in a hotel room with a talented songwriter.

‘And Just Like That’ Season 2 Episode 2 is available to stream on HBO Max.
