Darius Slayton Tweets a not-so-subtle threat over Madden rating, but not his own

Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton had strong words for the Madden developers who rated his quarterback, Daniel Jones, so low.

Whoever is in charge of setting Madden ratings better hope they never come face to face with Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton because there will be hell to pay.

Slayton isn't upset about his own Madden rating though. His 77 wasn't the issue. The 75 for Daniel Jones was.

"Lol Daniel Jones a 75….count your days Madden developers I will find you and you will answer for your sins against humanity," Slayton tweeted.

Darius Slayton wants to fight Madden over Daniel Jones rating

Slayton has a point here even if he's being just a tad hyperbolic.

Jones ranks 21st in QB ratings, just one point ahead of Mac Jones and Bryce Young, who hasn't played a down of NFL football yet. He's behind Ryan Tannehill and Jimmy Garoppolo.

He was a 75 last year and stayed that way in the new game despite personal improvement in just about every measure.

No one is arguing Jones is one of the best quarterbacks in the league. But there aren't a full 20 better than him.

In 2022, Jones completed 67.2 percent of his passes, threw for 3,205 yards and 15 touchdowns with just five interceptions. He added 708 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground.

The rushing ability alone makes him a more dynamic playmaker than Tannehill or Garoppolo.

The good news for Giants fans is that Madden ratings don't matter in the real world. At worst, fans who play the game will have to be frustrated that their favorite team has an underrated quarterback behind center. When it comes to actual games, it'll be within Jones' hands to prove the raters got it wrong about him. Then next year he'll be closer to the rating he deserves.
