Barbie production designers reveal hardest part about bringing Barbieland to life
The production designers who worked on Barbie have revealed the biggest challenges about bringing Barbieland to life - after nine whole months of conversations with director, Greta Gerwig, on how it should look. Sarah Greenwood and Katie Spencer were responsible for the incredible aesthetics of the dream houses. “What do you put in a house with no walls? And through these walls, you see the house next door", Spencer says. “There’s nowhere to hide. It has to look utterly gorgeous but relatable. And then there’s the scale of things… the lower the house, the shallower the rooms. You couldn’t put an awful lot in them.” Sign up to our new free Indy100 weekly newsletter

Steve Harvey reacts to viral burger that looks like him
Steve Harvey has responded to a viral burger that looks like him, and he's taking it all in good humour. The burger, which did the rounds on social media, had big slices of onion under a patty and people joked the slices looked like the American TV host's smile. The user who posted it, Sagittarius Groove, wrote: “Why they give me these big onion slices, my burger look like Steve Harvey." She then begged her followers not to harass Harvey with her post, writing, “Pls don’t tag Steve, I don’t want to offend anyone. I was eating dinner and thought 3 of my mutuals would see this.” But it quickly made its way to the Family Feud host, as is often the case on social media, but at least he seemed to see the funny side. "Stop sending me this $!," he said accompanied with a laughing crying face. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter After he tweeted the picture, the post went viral and people on Twitter praised him for his ability to take a joke and who can blame them? After all, there are worse things to look like than a burger, in our opinion at least. Have your say in our news democracy. Taylor Swift rewards her Eras Tour truck drivers with $100,000 bonus each
Taylor Swift has reportedly expressed her gratitude to the truck drivers working on her Eras Tour by giving each of them a $100,000 bonus. The 33-year-old singer is currently on her record-breaking tour which has earned an estimated $300 million in gross revenue, as per Pollstar. Last year, Billboard estimated that Swift's tour would gross $590 million over the course of 52 tour dates. With this huge financial success, Swift has used the fortune to reward her truckers who are responsible for transporting her equipment and staging around the country. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Each of the 50 truck drivers were given $100,000 each ahead of Swift's show in Santa Clara on Saturday, which adds up to $5 million in total for the "end-of-the-tour" bonuses, both TMZ and Entertainment Tonight reported. Plus, bonuses were also handed out to other people on her tour crew such as her band members, dancers, lighting and sound technicians, caterers and others. Though the amount paid to the other members remains unclear, TMZ reported that it was a "very generous amount." Altogether it is thought that The Eras tour could be the highest-grossing tour of all time, earning a massive $1 billion in sales. It's been a record-breaking year for Swift who also became the first woman to have four albums in the top 10 of the Billboard charts. She also became the first female artist in history to surpass 93 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Elsewhere, tickets for Swift's Eras Tour LA shows are on sale for $11,000, while the singer also sparked a meme frenzy with an August post. Have your say in our news democracy. Taylor Swift gifts 'Eras tour' truck workers '$100,000 bonuses' - totalling $5 million
Taylor Swift has reportedly dished out over $5 million in bonuses to truckers who helped out on her Eras tour. The 50 drivers transport all of her staging from venue-to-venue across the US, and each apparently got a cool $100,000 gift from the singer. While she's been on tour since March, she still has a further 60 shows starting in February 2024, taking her across the globe. Other workers including engineers, caterers, and dancers also received a bonus, but it's not known how much. Sign up to our new free Indy100 weekly newsletter

Free streams to watch Barbie spread online amid security warnings
Illicit free streams for Barbie, Oppenheimer and other summer blockbuster movies pose a risk to people attempting to watch them online, cyber security experts have warned. Searches for how to watch the films for free were tracked by security firm NordVPN, revealing links leading to sites containing malware and other malicious software. The worst impacted movie was Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3, according to the researchers, with links shared on Twitter containing the most number of phishing warnings, malicious links and malware concerns. The Super Mario Bros. Movie had the second-most security threats linked to it, followed by Barbie, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, John Wick: Chapter 4, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, The Little Mermaid, Oppenheimer, Mission Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One, and Killers of the Flower Moon. Illegal online streams that allow people to watch films for free have become a popular way for cyber criminals to exploit web users in recent years. Several illicit platforms that mimic the functionality of Netflix and other legitimate streaming services offer ways to watch films and TV shows with little cyber security risk to users, however links shared on social media sites like Twitter and Reddit can often lead to fake websites that attempt to steal financial or other sensitive information. “Trying to watch films this way is like searching for a needle in a haystack, with few of the links providing a watchable movie,” said Adrianus Warmenhovem, a cyber security advisor at NordVPN. “Most of these blockbusters will soon be available on reputable streaming platforms like Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video, so we suggest film fans be patient and enjoy these movies safely. Always stay cautious when clicking on a link, even on a trustworthy website, and use anti-malware tools.” Major sporting events are particularly vulnerable to cyber attack attempts, with searches for free live streams surging in the build up to big fights, football matches and races. The most popular form of piracy is websites hosting free streams of films and TV, accounting for more than 80 per cent of all piracy, according to figures published earlier this year. Piracy research firm Muso revealed that illegal streaming of films grew 38.6 per cent between 2021 and 2022, while visits to free streaming sites rose by nearly 9 per cent. This trend is expected to continue in 2023, early data suggests. Read More World Cup plagued by 'industrial-scale' piracy Premier League caught up in 'world's biggest piracy operation'
