Kids on Roblox are organising their own pro-Palestine protests in the game
Children have begun organising their own pro-Palestine protests in Roblox, in the wake of the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict. Twitter/X user @funnecfox shared on Monday that their fifteen-year-old cousin "couldn't join a protest so she just went to one on on Roblox." And she is one of hundreds of children protesting in virtual worlds to supplement the fact that they cannot attend protests in real life. Responding to the original announcement of such protests, another user replied with a video showing hundreds of Roblox avatars marching with Palestinian flag with signs saying "Solidarity Untukmu Palestine" ("Solidarity for you Palestine"). On TikTok, user @devotedly.yours shared footage of children in Malaysia protesting on the platform. @devotedly.yours Kids in Malaysia are protesting on Roblox for a free Palestine ??#palestine Many adults and young people have been expressing their love and support for the children finding ways to demand a free Palestine. "Kids who can't go out and protest irl are protesting on Roblox and this literally tough me to tears and gave me so much hope", wrote one user: "The kids of today have more grit and compassion than many adults I know", wrote another: Many asked why children can show compassion and understanding but many adults in power are struggling to do so: One user also shared that this isn't the first time children have used online spaces to show support for political and humanitarian issues. "The first time I heard about Palestine was when I was in middle school [because] there was a protest on Stardom (a dressup game site), so there is very real educational merit to these as silly as it may sound." Marcus Rashford: Wayne Rooney wants me to break his Manchester United record
Marcus Rashford has revealed how Wayne Rooney is willing him to break his Manchester United goalscoring record. Rooney tops the list of all-time scorers at Old Trafford with 253, but having recently signed a new five-year contract, 25-year-old Rashford looks in a good position to one day overhaul that tally. The 30 goals he scored last season, which was the most prolific campaign of his career, saw him move to 123 and more look set to follow with Erik ten Hag seemingly unlocking Rashford’s full potential. And Rashford says the man whose record he wants to take is cheering him on. Asked by Gary Neville on the Overlap, in partnership with Sky Bet, whether he can surpass Rooney’s record, he said: “Hopefully I will. “You never know what’s going to happen, but I’m all about scoring goals and trying to make assists. There’s definitely a chance that it can happen. “I’ve actually spoken to Wazza about it – he wants me to do it. “He said it would be good for me to do it as I’ve grown up at the club. Hopefully I get the opportunity to try and make it happen.” After such a prolific season last term, Rashford believes he could hit 40 goals if he can stay fit in the forthcoming season. “Before last season, I always said let’s get to 20 – for a winger a good benchmark,” he added. “But this season, I’ve hit 30 so we have to try and push it now and go above and beyond. “Towards the end of the season, I was struggling with a few injuries, and I probably wasn’t quite at it – that’s when the goals started to dry up a little bit. “If I can keep that side of it under taps, I feel like I can go on and get 35 or 40.” United look well placed to finally start challenging again under Ten Hag’s strict regime. Rashford felt the force of the disciplinarian last season when he was dropped from the starting XI for the game at Wolves after being late for a team meeting. The forward came off the bench to score the winner in a 1-0 victory, but revealed he was just one minute late. “I learned from pre-season, a couple of the lads were late and it was important to implement his rules there and then,” said Rashford, who also “100 per cent” agreed with Ten Hag’s decision. “I wasn’t even that late – I don’t think he was being harsh, late is late – but it was probably about 45 seconds, a minute late. “I already knew what was going to happen because of the rules he implemented in pre-season. “I am not going to sit and argue about it, because we’ve got a game to win. There is a time and place to speak to him, but if we win the game nobody really cares.” Read More Charity boss speaks out over ‘traumatic’ encounter with royal aide Ukraine war’s heaviest fight rages in east - follow live Castleford complete shock loan signing of Leeds half-back Blake Austin Josko Gvardiol set for Manchester City medical after £77.5m deal agreed Jack Crowley gets chance to stake claim for World Cup spot against Italy

Ex-vegan claims quitting diet ‘saved her life’
An former vegan whose hair started to fall out in chunks has claimed that eating meat “saved her life”. Kai-Lee Worsley, who is originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, became vegan aftermoving to Santa Ana, California, in 2018. After moving in with a group of vegans, she learnt about factory farming, which is controversial due to the cramped and stressful conditions endured by livestock. She was then convinced to try veganism herself. “What convinced me is the way animals were treated. I didn’t know how animals were treated in factory farms. I didn’t know factory farms existed,” she said. Kai-Lee stopped eating all products derived from animals and started eating protein-rich vegetables, such as beans and legumes. She also used supplements to counter the lack of proteins found in meat. But six months into her new diet, she started to feel unwell. Her hair started to fall out, her fingernails became brittle and she found it difficult to stand up. “I was extremely tired all the time. I couldn’t form coherent thoughts,” she said. “I would just lie in bed multiple times a week and I would spend all day in bed if I could. “My nails were breaking all the time. My hair was falling out. I have thin hair anyway but my hair was just coming out in chunks.” Kai-Lee stuck to the diet until June 2019 when her symptoms became too intense to ignore. Less than a year after becoming vegan, Kai-Lee started eating meat again and has credited it with “literally [saving] my life”. ”Now I eat basically the same thing as when I was a vegan except I have steak three times a week. I’ve swapped meat substitutes for meat. It has literally saved my life,” she said. Despite feeling the benefits of eating meat, Kai-Lee morally struggled to abandon her vegan diet. Kai-Lee said: “I really thought veganism was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I even saw myself as an activist. “After I ate meat, I saw myself as a fraud. I even had a V tattoo in my ear, which stood for vegan. I was at that point when I was so indoctrinated that it was really hard to go back. “I didn’t tell anyone at the beginning. I was worried what they would think about me.” She concluded: “I think when you’re so indoctrinated in something it’s really hard to back away, but I’m glad that I was able to do it in time.” Read More Janey Godley shares heartbreaking cancer update Gaining weight before 30 raises cancer risk decades later Teacher, 25, rushed to hospital with stomach ache diagnosed with terminal cancer Pensioner, 85, shares the simple switch that’s helped him to do 650,000 press-ups How to check if you have skin cancer: Symptoms and signs to look out 6 mouth cancer symptoms everyone should know
