An influencer has revealed that she ate her own knee cartilage during a romantic spaghetti bolognese dinner with her fella. Paula Gonu had to undergo an operation after suffering an injury. After the surgery, the doctor asked Paula if she wanted to keep her meniscus. The 30-year-old - who has over two million followers on Instagram - said yes and then whipped it up into the dish. She made the revelation during an interview on the Club 113 podcast on YouTube. The doc asked her if she wanted a general or local anaesthetic and she plumped for the latter. She wanted to see the screen while the op took place. Paula, who comes from Badalona, near Barcelona, in Spain, said: “He used a camera. How did you put the meniscus in the ragu?” “My stomach hurt. Now it hurts even more. Thank you,” wrote another. Josiah Harrell has urged fans not to ‘feel sorry’ for him after a pre-fight scan revealed that the UFC athlete has a rare brain disease. The American, 24, was due to fight Jack Della Maddalena in a welterweight bout at UFC 290 on Saturday (8 July), serving as a replacement for the injured Sean Brady. However, Harrell was also forced to pull out of his planned clash with Della Maddalena, when a pre-fight scan revealed that Harrell has moyamoya – a rare brain disease. “Small [bump] in the road,” the unbeaten fighter wrote on Instagram. “We did everything on our side. Got all of our medicals redone this week. Check out on all of them except something came up in the MRI scan that they wanted me to make sure was nothing serious. “Turns out I have a brain disease that is treatable and [I’ll be] back up and running asap. Sorry to everyone I know, [who either] wanted to see me get my head beat in or [wanted] to see me with my hand raised. I have very little information on what’s going on but I do know I’ll be a lab Rat for a while, which is fitting. “A wild week, a wild life. Women and men who experience migraines have an increased risk of having the most common type of stroke, research has suggested. Additionally, women alone may carry a further risk of heart attack and haemorrhagic stroke (bleeding in or around the brain). People diagnosed with migraine are believed to have a higher risk of experiencing a heart attack or stroke before the age of 60. Migraine was associated with a similarly increased risk of ischemic stroke among young men and women Cecilia Hvitfeldt Fuglsang, Aarhus University Previous research had suggested the increased risk of ischemic stroke – when a blood clot blocks a blood vessel to the brain – mostly affects young women. However, it was unclear whether women with migraine also carry a higher risk of heart attack and haemorrhagic stroke compared to men. Cecilia Hvitfeldt Fuglsang, of Aarhus University, Denmark, and her team looked at Danish medical records collected from 1996 to 2018, from people aged 18 to 60. They identified men and women with a history of migraines and compared their risk of a heart attack and ischemic and haemorrhagic stroke before the age of 60 to the risks faced by people in the general population without migraine. Hvitfeldt Fuglsang said: “Migraine was associated with a similarly increased risk of ischemic stroke among young men and women. “However, migraine may be associated with an increased risk of myocardial infarction and haemorrhagic stroke only among women.” The findings suggest both men and women with migraine had a similarly increased risk of ischemic stroke. However, women with migraine may also carry a slightly higher risk of heart attack and haemorrhagic stroke, compared to men with migraine and the general population. Women are more greatly impacted by migraine, especially since the condition is predominantly diagnosed in women, the researchers suggest. The researchers point out that since they used prescription drug records to identify patients with migraine, they may have missed untreated people, which could have resulted in an underestimation of the contribution of migraine to these health problems. The findings are published in the Plos Medicine journal. Body cam footage of a Washington State police officer has gone viral after he took an unconventional method to try and get a group of teenage suspects to surrender. The teenagers were suspected of stealing a car and had been chased on foot by authorities into the forest, after stop sticks had been used to deflate the car's tyres. So one deputy decided to try an unusual tactic in an effort to get the teenagers to surrender themselves. "Don't make us realease our K-9s," the officer can be heard shouting, before imitating the bark of a dog. The officer also yells "better stop", before continuing to bark, whilst his colleague reads a description of the suspects in the background. The teenagers eventually surrendered and walked out from the forest towards deputies before being placed under arrest. They told deputies they actually believed there was a dog and gave up as soon as they heard the barking. In a video posted to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department's Facebook, Sgt. Darren Moss Jr. said, "the kids actually believed there was a dog, and, in the end, they told the deputies, 'Man, soon as I heard that dog, I gave up.'" However, whilst it may have been believable to the four teenagers, people watching the clip had other opinions. In the comment section of a TikTok showing the body cam footage, people were shocked the teenagers fell for the deputy's trick: "It wasn't even believable," wrote one user. Another wrote: "I'm crying real tears rn please how did they believe this." "Imagine having to go to court and watch this back infant of everyone, I'd plead guilty asap," said one user. Users also compared the bark to the likes of Scooby Doo and Brian from Family Guy. No details about the suspects' identities or the charges they may face have been revealed.
