New footage shows what happened before Tiffany Gomas went on her viral 'not real' rant
The American Airlines 'not real' woman, identified as marketing exec Tiffany Gomas, has gone viral yet again in newly surfaced footage. To recap, on 2 July a distressed Gomas was recorded leaving her seat and heading towards the front of the plane. She pointed at a passenger and shouted: "That mother f**ker back there is not real." After weeks of online speculation and attempts to identify the passenger, she was eventually named. There have since been conspiracies, TikTok trends and even merch dedicated to Gomas' phrase. But, the reason behind her meltdown remains in the air. Now, in a closer angle shared on YouTube from a fellow passenger, Gomas can be seen talking with a flight attendant. "Stop the f***ing plane. Stop the f***ing plane, stop the plane," she said. Later in the clip, a passenger can be heard asking: "What’s her problem?!" "I need to get the f*** off this plane right now," she said. She then refuses to return to her seat, saying: "I’m not sitting by that man." When Gomas walks back to her seat, she tells a fellow passenger: "See what happens after this. See what happens. See what the f*** happens after this." "Things aren’t right, I’m telling you, things aren’t right," she continued. The attendant calmly tells her: "What we’re going to do is, you accused someone of taking your belongings, you can file a report. That’s what I’m trying to tell you." "I’m getting the f*** off because there is a stupid f***ing dude on here." According to The New York Post, which viewed documents linked to the incident, the 38-year-old refused to leave the plane despite suggesting in her rant that she wanted to get off. "The female then started claiming the aircraft was not safe and did not want the aircraft to leave due to her believing it would not make it to its destination," the 2 July complaint read. "Due to the statements the flight attendants felt the aircraft needed to be rescreened. [The airline manager] explained that the passenger was denied boarding and they wanted her escorted to the public side." Have your say in our news democracy. Jake Paul threatens to ‘fire’ employee for bothering Nate Diaz at press conference
Jake Paul threatened to ‘fire’ one of his employees on Tuesday, during a press conference for the YouTuber’s fight with Nate Diaz. YouTuber Paul has gone 6-1 as a professional boxer in recent years and is due to box Diaz, a former UFC star, in August. At the first press conference for that fight, a ‘reporter’ said to 38-year-old Diaz: “Nate, I’m actually a boxer myself, and I’ve been trying to get into this undercard. “I’m just wondering if you think I could fight your brother Nick [also a former UFC fighter]. If he’s anything like you, I think I’d beat his f***ing a**.” Diaz replied: “Brother, what? Are you just gonna walk away on the streets or some s***? You know all my homeboys see you right now? That was stupid. You deserve your a** whipped.” The reporter revealed himself to be “Derek from Betr Media”, a company run by Paul. Paul, 26, intervened, saying: “He works for my company. I’ll handle that later, I’ll fire him later. I’m sorry about that, Nate. Derek, shut up.” Derek later took to Betr’s Instagram page to share a video, in which he said: “I would like to apologise for the question that I asked at the Jake Paul and Nate Diaz press conference. “I would especially like to apologise to my boss Jake Paul, and I definitely want to apologise to Nate Diaz. Nate, please don’t hurt me, but if you do, I definitely deserve it. “Having said all this... Nick Diaz, the contract has been sent.” Nate Diaz made bond last month after turning himself in to police in New Orleans, where an arrest warrant was issued after the American was filmed seemingly choking out a man in the street. Diaz is best known for his fights with Conor McGregor in 2016. Diaz fought the Irishman on short notice in March of that year and submitted the former dual-weight champion, before losing to McGregor on points in their August rematch. Diaz last fought in the UFC in September, submitting Tony Ferguson before leaving the company. Click here to subscribe to The Independent’s Sport YouTube channel for all the latest sports videos. The key games on Manchester City’s road to becoming Premier League champions
Manchester City are celebrating their third successive Premier League title and a fifth in six seasons. Here, the PA news agency looks at some of the key games in their successful campaign. October 2, Man City 6 Man Utd 3 City did not really hit their stride or find consistency until the spring but there were still some awesome demonstrations of their firepower – and particularly that of Erling Haaland – in the opening months. Their thrashing of arch-rivals United was especially sweet. Haaland helped himself to a hat-trick, his third treble in successive home games and one of six he notched in a record-breaking campaign, while Phil Foden also hit three in an emphatic display. January 19, Man City 4 Tottenham 2 Pep Guardiola let his anger at his side be known after they rallied from 2-0 down at half-time to beat Spurs with goals from Julian Alvarez, Haaland and Riyad Mahrez (two). After defeats in the previous two games, the City boss felt the first-half showing was another indicator his players – who he labelled ‘happy flowers’ – were not fully focused. It did not mark a turning point in terms of results, as City were beaten at Spurs a few weeks later, but perhaps in attitude. February 15, Arsenal 1 Man City 3 Fixture disruption in the autumn meant the two leading title contenders were kept apart until February and it was City who landed the first blow when they eventually met. Kevin De Bruyne’s opener was cancelled out by a Bukayo Saka penalty but City upped the tempo in the second half to win comfortably with goals from Jack Grealish and Haaland. The win took City above the Gunners to the top, albeit only on goal difference and having played a game more at that stage, but it was psychologically important and key in the final reckoning. April 1, Man City 4 Liverpool 1 Despite the win over Arsenal, City had still not hit their fluid best and there remained doubts about their consistency. They started to show they really meant business when they put Liverpool, their chief title rivals in recent years, to the sword at the Etihad Stadium. Mohamed Salah put the Reds ahead with a thumping finish but City’s response, without injured top-scorer Haaland, was determined and impressive. Alvarez, De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Grealish all scored in a convincing win. April 26, Man City 4 Arsenal 1 City outclassed the Gunners to take firm command of the title race. Just weeks earlier, Arsenal had been in control of their destiny but their advantage was eroded by three successive draws prior to their trip to the Etihad. It was clear the momentum was with City and they emphasised that with a dominant display in which Haaland and De Bruyne ran riot. De Bruyne scored two, both from Haaland passes, and the Norwegian inevitably got on the scoresheet himself. John Stones scored their other goal in an unexpectedly one-sided clash. Arsenal remained two points clear but, with two games in hand, City held the upper hand and did not relinquish it.
