Manchester United suffer another blow as iShowSpeed declares he’s 'no longer a fan'
It's more bad news for Manchester United... YouTuber iShowSpeed has declared he's "no longer a fan" after their recent defeat. After losing 3-2 at home to Galatasaray, the Red Devils losing in the Champions League group stages on Tuesday. During the game, it was Rasmus Hojlund who provided the two goals in the 17th and 67th minutes to put them 2-1 ahead after Zaha scored for Galatasaray in the 23rd minute. But things fell apart for United with 20 minutes remaining when Onana's misjudged pass was intercepted by Dries Mertens, who was then brought down in the box by Casemiro and he got sent off for this. Despite missing the penalty, Mauro Icardi soon scored to secure victory for the Turkish club. This loss for Man Utd comes after their previous 4-3 defeat to Bayern Munich and United are now at the bottom of their group. Furthermore, it also adds to the side's poor form this season of six defeats in 10 games. For iShowSpeed, it's proven to be the straw that broke the camel's back. He's been one of the most vocal United fans online for some time now, but it looks like the YouTube star has had enough, taking to Twitter/X to share his dismay at the Premier League side while he also added that manager Ten Hag and summer signing Andre Onana should be “outlawed”. The creator had previously expressed his love for the club as well as going viral for his tearful reaction to meeting United legend and Al Nassr player Cristiano Ronaldo. “That’s it. That seals the deal. I am no longer a United fan," he tweeted last night (October 3). The streamer, who is only 18-years-old, then jokingly added: “I’ve been a United member since 1987 and a season ticket holder since 1999. “I’m not going to renew my season ticket. Ten Hag and Onana are outlawed as of today. “I will become a fan of Al Nassr now, where they actually know how to run a football club," referring to Ronaldo's current team. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse for United... Elsewhere, Manchester United's Hannah Blundell will perhaps be disappointed by this news after she responded to an iShowSpeed clip when he opened the footballer in an Ultimate Team pack on the new EA Sports FC 24 game. PSG vs Newcastle LIVE: Champions League score and goal updates as Mbappe and Isak come close
Paris Saint-Germain take on Newcastle in a crucial Champions League tie that could determine which of the two teams makes it out of the group stages. With just two fixtures to play in this part of the competition, Group F is incredibly tight as just three points separate Borussia Dortmund in first and Eddie Howe’s men in fourth. A victory for Newcastle tonight would jump them above PSG in the table and keep them in the mix to qualify for the knockout rounds. PSG, meanwhile, are currently second and three points against Newcastle would ensure they remain in European competition though they would need Dortmund to also defeat AC Milan in order to qualify for the next stage of the tournament. Newcastle completed a comprehensive 4-1 victory in the reverse fixture last month but they’ve been rocked by losses of key personnel and will face a difficult task of salvaging their Champions League campaign in Paris tonight. Wild Montgomery riverboat brawl prompts folding chair memes after footage goes viral
Footage of a wild brawl in Montgomery, Alabama, has gone viral across social media, prompting X users (formerly known as Twitter) to do what they do best: Memeify it. The incident occurred on August 5 near Montgomery Riverfront Park and was captured by several witnesses before being broken up by Alabama police. What appeared to be an argument between a man, believed to be a riverboat employee, and two other men soon escalated. Many more people jumped in to seemingly defend the man. In one piece of footage, one woman claimed: "These white people jumped this black security guard at the Riverfront. The staff got off the boat and it turned into WWE Smackdown. I’m so proud of Montgomery." Another person shared a different angle of the brawl, writing: "I HATE when people jump people a majority of the time, & even more so when you want to fight or jump someone for doing their job. I applaud EVERYONE that helped that man out." People were thrown into the water and folded chairs were smashed over people's heads – which led to the 'inventor' of the folding chair being the centre of memes across the net. In 1911, Nathaniel Alexander patented a design of the chair for schools, churches and "in small towns when somebody tries you," one person jokingly quipped. As the jokes rolled in, many users highlighted that the image "of Alexander" was in fact Lewis H Latimer, who invented many things including the light bulb filament. Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter The Montgomery Police Department have since revealed in a statement that several people have been detained with charges pending. Officials "acted swiftly to detain several reckless individuals for attacking a man who was doing his job," Montgomery Mayor Steven L. Reed said in a statement. "Warrants have been signed and justice will be served." Reed continued: "This was an unfortunate incident which never should have occurred. As our police department investigates these intolerable actions, we should not become desensitized to violence of any kind in our community. Those who choose violent actions will be held accountable by our criminal justice system." Have your say in our news democracy. ‘Poetic’: Trump takes stage in Iowa to song about going to prison
Donald Trump took the stage at the Iowa Republican Dinner to a song that started out with the lyrics, “One could end up going to prison, one just might be president”. The ironic moment came as the former president’s legal woes are mounting. Mr Trump has already been indicted twice. By the end of the summer, he may be the subject of as many as four criminal cases. The latest episode in his legal peril appeared to be taking shape on Thursday 27 July, when the ex-president’s legal team met with the prosecution team led by Special Counsel Jack Smith in a last-ditch attempt to convince Mr Smith and his team from seeking another indictment against Mr Trump for his efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss to Joe Biden. That same day, the special counsel’s team hit Mr Trump with superseding charges in federal court in Florida. Officials accused the former president and an employee at his Mar-a-Lago club of attempting to destroy security camera footage once Mr Trump learned he was under subpoena in the investigation over his handling of classified documents. Earlier this month, Mr Trump said prosecutors notified him that he was also a target of Mr Smith’s investigation into efforts to overturn the 2020 election and the January 6 attack on the Capitol. The former president is understood to be facing the possibility of charges under three federal criminal statutes: Conspiracy to defraud the United States, deprivation of rights under colour of law, and witness tampering. Natalie Allison of Politico tweeted a video of the moment on Friday night. “As Trump took the stage in Iowa, this ironic line played: ‘One could end up going to prison, one just might be president.’ He had to walk out to Brooks & Dunn (like all candidates tonight) instead of his usual Lee Greenwood,” she wrote. Twitter users were quick to join in the mockery of the former president. MSNBC host Katie Phang simply wrote that it was “poetic”. “Omg. That line hits right when he gets on stage,” State Attorney for Palm Beach County Dave Aronberg wrote. GOP strategist Mike Murphy wrote: “Ha! Trump is finally understanding [that Iowa Governor Kim] Reynolds didn’t get her job because she just fell off a turnip truck…. #SharpOperator BTW, earlier she was at a big Tim Scott event. And treated with due respect.” “This is gold! Proving once again that #Republicans are so clueless they don’t even listen to lyrics before greeting their standard bearer with a song. Excuse me while I ROTFLMAO,” Ann Werner said. Read More Trump indictment – live: GOP candidate booed off stage for criticising Trump as ex-president slams DeSantis Ex-Missouri Gov.
