Hilarious moment Channel 4 staff celebrate Arsenal goal in background of news broadcast
Football fans can’t resist celebrating last minute goals – even while clearly visible in the background of a national news broadcast. An Arsenal fan couldn’t help but enjoy his side’s late win against Manchester United while working in the Channel 4 newsroom on Sunday. News reader Ciaran Jenkins was delivering a live report from the studio when a figure in the background could be seen standing up and raising both arms aloft. The excited fan was celebrating the goal from Declan Rice which secured the win for the north London side. “That’s all we have time for this evening,” Jenkins said during the broadcast, with the figure jumping to his feet during the winning moment behind him. The game had been poised at 1-1, with the match seemingly heading for a draw. However, Rice fired home to take the result away from United, with the game eventually ending 3-1 after Gabriel Jesus also scored during the eight minutes of added time. Despite the third goal, Rice’s strike proved the decisive moment in the game. He spoke to Sky Sports after the match and said: “We were knocking at the door on the corners, I had a chance in the first half but I felt we were a constant threat. The one at the end I scored, [I] stayed at the back post, I controlled it on my chin and scored.” On the importance of the result, he added: “Man City have won four out of four. We would be five points behind them if we didn’t win. To catch up points on them is a massive task so we couldn’t afford to give them that after four games. “To win that today was a must-win. We said that before the game and to now go into the international break with a couple of wins and a draw is really good.” Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. Sisters go viral after their TikTok is compared to a 'coming of age movie'
A TikTok has gone viral after viewers called it a "coming of age movie" and joked that the girls featured in it should be "nominated for an Academy Award". The video, originally uploaded to TikTok account @palmview956, which has since been removed and re-uploaded to the family's new account, has over 1 million views on TikTok. The video starts with a young girl, Valentina, participating in the 'Get Unready With Me' trend, but as she starts one of her young sisters runs in asking for scissors and then runs out again. A few seconds later a scream is heard and the girl's two younger sisters run into her room, and you can see that one sister, Khaleesi, cut her sister, Camilla's, hair. As the girls begin shouting, accusing one another of being in the wrong, Valentina tells them to be quiet after their mum can be heard off-camera asking if everything is okay. When the mum's suspicions are seemingly down, Valentina tells Khaleesi through her teeth "close the door now", whilst looking at Camilla's hair and trying to salvage it. "Tomorrow's picture day!" Camilla says, before Khaleesi hands her the cut piece of her. Valentina scolds them saying, "why are you laughing! I told you not to do anything stupid!" She then proceeds to search 'how to cut bangs', attempting to rectify the situation as all eldest sisters do. However, not before the youngest daughter comes running in saying "ooh you're in trouble!" Valentina however manages to buy the youngest girl's silence with... a cookie. Valentina manages to cut some bangs that look great, which Camilla initially agrees with until saying "what have you done to my life". Eventually the mum walks in demanding to know what is going on. The sisters are all giggling trying to insist that it is nothing, until they eventually give in and show the new haircut. They try and blame it on one another, until Camilla is demanded by her mother to show her dad her hair, to which Valentina says to the camera "pray for them," before ending the video. @palmview956oficial GURWM gone wrong.. The tweet has been viewed over 100 million times. Some called it "cinema", others compared it to Louisa May Alcott's famous novel 'Little Women', which follows four sisters. Other elder sisters also attested to this being a key part of the experience. Even Halle Berry loved the video: Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. Rachel Morin update: Desperate hunt for mystery suspect after DNA linked to LA assault found
Rachel Morin’s boyfriend has spoken out after Maryland Police revealed footage of the man believed to have murdered the mother-of-five. The Harford County Sheriff’s Office announced on Thursday that DNA found at the scene of Morin’s murder had been matched to the DNA left at a home were an unknown man broke into a home in Los Angeles and violently attacked a young girl back in March. The suspect, a Hispanic male aged 20-30, was caught on a home security camera leaving the LA home. “We believe this was a person that Rachel didn’t know, potentially a random act of violence,” Harford County Sheriff’s Office’s Colonel William Davis said on Thursday. Police are now asking for the public’s help in identifying him. “Unfortunately that suspect has not been positively identified, but he did leave behind his DNA,” Colonel William Davis said at a press conference. Morin’s boyfriend Richard Tobin took to social media following the briefing to say: “I hope they found this scum of the earth, justice for Rachel.” The break in the investigation comes nearly two weeks after Morin, 37, was last seen heading to the Ma & Pa Trail in Bel Air at around 6pm on 5 August. Her body was found near the trail the next day.
