Kim Petras has made history by becoming the second transgender woman to model on the cover of Sports Illustrated. As part of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit's annual issue, the popstar was picked as one of the four cover stars including Megan Fox, Brooks Nader and Martha Stewart. The Grammy Award winner is the second transgender woman cover star, with actress Leyna Bloom being the first to grace the cover back in July 2021. "It’s very iconic, and a lot of very iconic people have done it before, so [it was a] big dream come true for me," Petras told the publication. Fans of Petras flocked to her post and congratulated her on this achievement. One person wrote: "So so proud of you Kim this is iconic @kimpetras KEEP BUSTING DOWN THEM DOORS" "Beautiful!!! Congrats!!!! I wish you the best and many more of these," another person said. Someone else added: "And the photo credits being colored as the trans flag? Iconic. @sportsillustrated really focusing all in those details. Congrats, mama!!!" The 30-year-old German singer also acknowledged what it means to be part of the transgender community amid a wave of anti-trans laws being introduced in states and the pressure she feels to represent it in an interview with the magazine. "It’s definitely a scary time to be transgender in America, but there’s also so much more representation than there’s ever been, and there’s so many things on the bright side," she added. “I do feel a pressure sometimes to represent the trans community with everything I do because I feel very blessed that I am at this point where I have all these amazing opportunities that I’ve worked really hard for and feel so happy when I hear from trans people in general that they’re inspired by me.” Though she also noted that everything she does is "definitely not about being transgender." “I always try to remember that everything I do is definitely not about being transgender. It’s a part of me, but there are so many other parts of me. And I think that’s really important for me to show that to people,” she said. “No matter what your gender or sexuality or any of that stuff is, it’s about what you make of life and it’s about what’s inside of you, so I hope that can be inspiring to people.” It's not the first time Petras has made history, as she became the first trans woman to win Grammy for Best Pop Duo for her collaboration with Sam Smith on the hit song 'Unholy.' Whether it's home inspiration, easy food tutorials, cleaning hacks, style advice, or creating a whole new vocabulary – if there's one thing TikTok doesn't lack, it's variety. In recent months, the popular platform has invented a string of cryptic codewords, including 401 and mascara. Both terms are often used by women on the app to talk discretely about certain areas of their lives. But now, there's a term becoming increasingly common on TikTok: "Gyatt". While the term isn't exclusive to TikTok, it's certainly become the latest slang word making its way across the platform. Many people were left baffled by the word, forcing them to ask fellow users the definition. The meaning is pretty straightforward. It's simply a shortened version of "god damn". The term was seemingly first used by YouTube and Twitch streamer YourRage who would say "gyatt" whenever an attractive female would appear on his streams. Kai Cenat has also popularised the term. The slang term has gone on to become mainstream on TikTok, with many Gen Zers using it in their videos and in comments sections. Elsewhere, "gyatt" apparently stands for "get your act together," according to Acronym Finder. However, this isn't the commonly used way of using the word. Meanwhile, Gen Z TikTokers have gone on to create a whole new language of their own, including the likes of: Cheugy: When a millennial is trying too hard to be cool. Rizz: Short for charisma, thus a 'rizzler' is someone with lots of charisma. Suss: When something feels sketchy or suspicious. Situationship: A romantic relationship with someone that remains undefined. No cap: Another way of saying you're not lying. The coach of Spain's men's national soccer team asked for forgiveness Friday for applauding the claim by Luis Rubiales that he was the victim of a smear campaign from “false feminists” following an uproar after he kissed a player on the lips at the Women’s World Cup. “I don’t think I have to resign, I think I have to ask for forgiveness," Spain coach Luis de la Fuente said in Madrid in his first public appearance since Rubiales kissed Jenni Hermoso on Aug. 20 after the final in Sydney, Australia. “I made a human error. It was inexcusable.” De la Fuente was speaking one week after he clapped several times during an emergency general assembly of the Spanish soccer federation when Rubiales, the organization's president, refused to step down as was expected. Rubiales’ speech included claims that Hermoso had consented to his kiss during the awards ceremony — a claim she has denied — and against what he called the “scourge” of feminism in Spain. “I have received harsh criticism, and it is completely deserved,” De la Fuente said Friday. “If I could go back in time, I would not do that again. We all have to do more for equality. Me too. And I am working on that.” De la Fuente said he was caught off guard by Rubiales' speech and that his applause happened in a “situation of maximum stress and tension.” He said he was convinced Rubiales was going to announce he was stepping down, as was widely reported in local media. FIFA, the governing body of world soccer, provisionally suspend Rubiales for 90 days a day after his speech. Hours after his boss was suspended, De la Fuente issued a statement condemning Rubiales’ behavior after Spain beat England to win the Women’s World Cup final.
