TAMPA, FLORIDA: Mike Williams, a former NFL wide receiver, tragically died on September 12 at the age of 36, following a construction accident that occurred two weeks ago.

His agent, Hadley Engelhard, confirmed he died at St Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa.

The incident that led to Williams' injuries occurred at a construction site in Hillsborough County, which encompasses Tampa.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, he was taken off life support on September 7, as reported by the mother of his 8-year-old daughter, who revealed that he had experienced partial paralysis due to the accident.

The Bucs said in a statement, “We are saddened to hear of the untimely death of Mike Williams, which has left our organization, his former teammates and fans with very heavy hearts,”

“We send our deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones as they mourn this tragedy.”

Mike Williams, widely recognized as an exceptional wide receiver in the NFL, concluded his illustrious career after an impressive five-season stint in 2014.

Mike Williams began his NFL journey as a fourth-round draft pick for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2010, after an impressive college career at Syracuse.
