CANNES, FRANCE: A lot of work apparently went behind before making Johnny Depp’s starry appearance at 2023 Cannes Film Festival. The 59-year-old star’s ‘Jeanne du Barry’ opened the 2023’s international film festival and he was there with the other cast members. However, it has been said that before going for the global event, he was given a heavy makeover.
A festival source told Page Six, “He was cleaned up.” The source also noted that it was not a single person’s magic but a whole team of professionals worked on him in a suite at the JW Marriott hotel on La Croisette. To attend the worldwide premiere of ‘Jeanne du Barry’, Depp chose to wear a custom-made tuxedo by Dior designer Kim Jones.

Samantha McMillen, the stylist of the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star also used her talent to make him look dashing for the week, another insider revealed to the publication. Besides, since Depp is Dior's men’s perfume face, his costumes for the film’s press conference and for a dinner party, which he eventually preferred to give a miss, were provided by the French brand.
The tipster shared, “Johnny went back to rest for the next day. He had started at 10 a.m., then he ended the evening with a press conference and back-to-back press … then a Dior photo call. He was told it was going to be an intimate cast dinner, but it was for 500 people and it didn’t start until midnight. He wanted to rest — after all, he’ll be turning 60 in June!”
