IVINS, UTAH: Disgraced YouTuber Ruby Franke's husband Kevin wanted their eldest daughter Shari Franke to be charged with burglary following the arrest of the 'momfluencer' for child abuse.
According to Fox News Digital, a police report from September details Kevin accusing his daughter of kicking and damaging the front door of his home and some of his electronics were missing.
Why did Utah police refuse to charge Shari Franke?
The 45-year-old man named his 20-year-old daughter as the primary suspect in what he believed to be a burglary.
Speaking about the September 1 incident, a Utah police officer said, "Kevin stated that Shari is not allowed in the home and that he believes she entered unlawfully, and he wants her charged with burglary."
Kevin who has been separated from Ruby was then informed by the Springville police officer that law enforcement authorities had busted into his house after obtaining a search warrant for the property and were responsible for the damage.
The complainant "wanted to have his daughter charged with theft for taking some hard drives out of the house."
However, an officer on the scene informed him that Shari "wasn’t aware" she was not allowed to have them and that she offered to bring the items back.
The 20-year-old returned three passports, a stack of written journals, three cameras, three cellphones, and three tablets to the Springville Police Department. Kevin then received the items from the department.
Authorities then informed him that Shari would not be charged with any crime and in response, Kevin allegedly threatened to sue the Utah police department.
Shari Franke stated she was 'glad' to see her mother Ruby arrested
On August 30, 2023, Ruby and her business partner Jodi Hildebrandt were taken into custody on charges of aggravated child abuse.
The arrest came after police received a distressing call about a juvenile seeking help who was reportedly "emaciated and malnourished with open wounds and duck tape around the extremities."
Shortly, authorities found a second malnourished child and immediately took them to the hospital.
Days before the incident, the 41-year-old vlogger had filmed a video in Hildebrandt's home, suggesting that she had "knowledge of the abuse, malnourishment and neglect."
Following Ruby's arrest, Shari stated that she was "glad" to see her mother taken into custody.
"Today has been a big day. Me and my family are so glad justice is being served," the 20-year-old wrote on Instagram.
"We’ve been trying to tell the police and CPS for years about this, and so glad they finally decided to step up," she added.
