CANNES, FRANCE: At the Cannes Film Festival Air Mail Party on Tuesday night, Sting and his wife Trudie Styler put on a happy-go-lucky show. The singer, 71, and the actress, 69, flew to France for the 76th film festival and made plans to attend the party at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc. The pair smiled for the cameras while snuggling close to each other, appearing perfectly happy.

With a bevy of celebrities, including Lily-Rose Depp, Eva Longoria, and Scarlett Johansson, they partied till dawn. In a crochet dress and cardigan set, Trudie was stunning as she completed the ensemble with many pearl necklaces and a tan purse.

Sting, on the other hand, wore a blue shirt and a pinstripe jacket. The Cannes Film Festival began last week and has already been graced by a number of Hollywood big names. New movies from all over the world, including documentaries, are previewed during the festival. The invitation-only event was established in 1946 and takes place yearly (often in May) in the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès.

Trudie and Sting have four children together and have been married for nearly thirty years. The duo was present at the Ivor Novello Awards last week when Sting received a Fellowship, the highest honor the Academy bestows. The British singer said he "loves" the Ivor's Academy and was "delighted" to be "granted this wonderful honor" while speaking on the red carpet.

'Songwriting is a major export of Britain'

He said, "The last time I was here, I got a lifetime achievement award which I thought was a bit premature. But the fellowship was obviously beyond a lifetime, and it sounds a bit like Lord Of The Rings, but I think there are more duties attached to a fellowship," as reported by DailyMail.

He went on to add, "The Ivors protect the rights of songwriters - that's one of the things they do, not just established songwriters like me, but up-and-coming songwriters. It is also a major export of Britain, our songwriting, so they need protecting, so I am very proud to be part of this organization," as per reports.
