Swifties have meltdown as Taylor Swift teases possible 'Reputation (Taylor's Version)' release on Eras Tour

BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA: To fulfil her objective of obtaining all her masters, Taylor Swift now has two albums remaining to rerecord: 'Reputation' and her first album 'Taylor Swift,' which is often referred to as 'Debut' by fans.

'Reputation', a fan favorite and her final release with Big Machine Records, was released six years ago.

Swift's most recent re-release, '1989 (Taylor's Version),' was released on October 27, and it was rumored that Taylor's Version of 'Reputation' was scheduled to be released on Friday, November 10.

However, Swift seemingly teased her fans during her show in a recently released footage on X that eventually resulted in an apparent meltdown among Swifties.

The clip shows Swift teasing the crowd and saying, "I put out two of my versions and you know what? I thought I would tell you," while the crowd continues screaming, "NOW GO STAND IN THE CORNER AND THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU DID".

Fans theories and release date rumors for 'Reputation (Taylor's Version)'

Within the first week of its release, Swift's remastered version of her 2014 album '1989' shot to the top of the American album sales charts for 2023.

With more than 1.6 million copies sold in the US and more than 3.5 million copies worldwide, it has flown to the top of the Billboard 200 album list, per Radio Times.

Swifties, adept at deciphering cryptic clues and Easter eggs placed by the artist, have various opinions as to why the 2017 album is the next to receive a rerelease along with the already-heard song clips from 'Reputation.'

Given that 'Reputation' was initially released on November 10, 2017, fans are still of the opinion that Swift might be releasing a new edition of the album on the same day in 2023.

One of the prevailing theories stems from Swift's 2021 release of her rerecording of 'Wildest Dreams.'

A picture of Swift standing in a blue dress with red lips—a look frequently linked to her '1989' era—suddenly glitches in the video clip that goes with the song. Swift gives the camera a wink following the glitch.

Given that Swift widely erased all of her Instagram postings prior to the album's release, and the 'Reputation' era is known for disruption, some fans speculate that the glitch may have been a premonition of her sixth studio album

In August 2017, she also hinted at the first 'Reputation' period with a glitch-filled video clip showing a serpent preparing to attack.

In addition, Swift released a song titled 'Glitch' on 'Midnights,' and a line from the 2022 tune has Swifties furrowing their eyebrows.

Since Swift released her previous two re-records while on the Eras Tour, fans pretty much counted on her revealing 'Reputation (Taylor's Version)' while she was still touring.

Given that Swift is currently on tour in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Friday, November 10, the announcement of 'Reputation' may occur during her visit.

Another idea put up by Swifties claims that the album cover for '1989 (Taylor's Version)' contains clues about 'Reputation.'

Fans who closely examined the 'Taylor's Version' font design observed that, although the first "s" seems normal, the second appears to have more stress at the beginning of the letter stroke and may even have a snake-like appearance.

Swifties 'clowned so hard' over Taylor Swift's 'Reputation' speculation

Following the brainstorming surrounding the re-release of Swift's 'Reputation (Taylor's Version),' internet users and online Swifties took to X to express their confusion over the pop singer's teasing task.

One X user exclaimed, "WE CLOWNED SO HARDDDDD FOR REP TV SHE MADE FUN OF US AND TEASED US SO BAD TONIGHT FOR IT SHE KNEW WE WERE CLOWNING Taylor Allison swift my therapist will hear about this #TaylorSwift #taylornation IM SO CONFUSED NOW what does the snake mean in 1989 banner mean!?"

The same X user added in a following comment, "AND THE GLITCH POST WHAT DOES IT MEAN AND ALL THE OTHER EASTER EGGS WHAT DO THEY MEAN NOW"

A second one wrote, "This was literally "does taylor swift know shes announcing rep tv tonight" translated into real life"

"If you are feeling sad, just remember the vault songs on rep tv still exist," quipped a third X user.

Another one added, "Straight up clowned...the black blazer, black dress, orange dress (the reputation vinyl record is orange i think)...all js for "now go stand in the corner and think about what you did." shes genius im telling you."

One more X user came along, "Taylor swift has the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever (wear a new rep outfit and say absolutely nothing about rep tv)".

"Remember when we thought we were maybe getting a rep tv announcement tonight… and then taylor swift ripped the door off the god damn hinges," noted another one.

Another X user wrote, "Taylor Swift has the opportunity to do the funniest possible thing and acknowledge the clowning for Rep TV and announce Taylor Swift TV instead."

What is meant by 'Taylor’s Version'?

Following news that talent manager and music executive Scooter Braun had sold Swift's master recordings to a private equity group, Swift initially declared in 2020 that she was going to re-record her first six studio albums.

Swift has been reclaiming ownership of her music with the rerecordings of her first six albums, which she has labeled "Taylor's Version" to set them apart from the original recordings, per TODAY.com.

Along with the massively popular Eras Tour and Eras Tour movie, Swift is also slaying the year 2023 with her releases of 'Speak Now (Taylor's Version)' and '1989 (Taylor's Version),' which were released on October 27.

Swift has rerecorded four albums from her repertoire, the most recent being '1989.' Popular songs like 'Style' and 'Blank Space' had new vocals on the 'Taylor's Version' copy of the album, which also included songs that were not on the original release.

These tracks are referred to as 'From the Vault,' or her 'vault tracks.' Now that the singer is back on the Eras Tour in Argentina, fans are speculating about what the artist will do next.
