Footage shows water submerging a street in Paris after heavy rain hit the French capital over the weekend. The video was captured in the city’s Jourdain neighbourhood. Violent storms battered Île-de-France on Sunday, with flooding from various places reported across the region, including Paris. Traffic was affected by the severe weather and yellow warnings for thunderstorms were issued for Monday. French website Meteo Express reported 20mm of rain in just 10 minutes and as a consequence of the flooding, some train stations across Paris were left flooded. Manchester City players left their hotel in Istanbul on Sunday, 11 June, after securing an historic treble with their Champions League win. City only the second English team to win the Champions League, Premier League, and FA Cup in the same season, after Manchester United in 1999. City had a glorious night at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium as they beat Inter Milan 1-0 with a 68th-minute Rodri strike. “There are teams who win the Champions League and disappear. We have to avoid that,” Pep Guardiola told a post-match press conference.

Inter Milan players can hold their heads high after losing the Champions League final to Manchester City, boss Simone Inzaghi has said. City had a glorious night at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium as they beat Inter 1-0 with a 68th-minute Rodri strike. Inzaghi admitted that his side does have regrets but he had to congratulate his players. “They are very sad, disappointed, but they must be proud of their campaign and the final they played. Italian special forces have secured control of a Turkish cargo ship that was attacked by armed stowaways off the coast of Naples on Friday, 9 June. Twenty-two crew members were aboard the ship, named Galeta Seaways, that was on its way to France when “unidentified people” were detected on board. Defense minister Guido Crosetto said special forces lowered themselves onto the Turkish ship from two helicopters to free crew held by around 15 stowaways, two or three armed with sharp objects. Mr Crosetto confirmed in a tweet that the ship’s hijackers were captured.

Rishi Sunak described the stabbing attack in the French Alpine town of Annecy as “unfathomable”, adding that his thoughts were with all those affected. West Ham enjoyed a heroes’ welcome as fans lined the streets of east London to celebrate their Europa Conference League glory. Sunday night marked the end of an era at FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou, with the club set to play away from the iconic stadium as it undergoes renovation.
