Russia-Ukraine war live: Moscow launches air strikes as Putin’s forces ‘face Kyiv attack on Crimea’
Russia launched overnight air attacks on Ukraine‘s south and east using drones and possibly ballistic missiles, Ukraine‘s Air Force and officials said early on Tuesday. A fire broke out at one of the “facilities” in the port of Mykolaiv late on Monday, the city mayor said. The port city provides Ukraine with access to the Black Sea. “It’s quite serious,” Mayor Oleksandr Senkevich said on the Telegram messaging app of the fire, adding that more detail will come in the morning. The southern port of Odesa and the Mykolaiv, Donetsk, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions were under threat of Russian drone attacks, the Air Force said on the Telegram messaging app. It added that Russia may be using ballistic weaponry to attack the regions of Poltava, Cherkasy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Kirovohrad. It comes as Russian defence ministry said they repelled a Ukrainian drone attack on Crimea in the early hours of Tuesday - a day after an explosion on the bridge killed two people. Khloe Kardashian posts cryptic messages after Kylie Jenner spotted with Jordyn Woods
Khloe Kardashian turned to Instagram with a series of poignant quotes following Kylie Jenner and Jordyn Woods' dinner catch-up. On Sunday (16 July), the two former best friends were spotted leaving a restaurant in Los Angeles alongside two security men. To recap, Woods was outed back in 2019 for kissing Kardashian's baby father and serial cheat, Tristan Thompson. Woods admitted to kissing him at a party, but shut down any rumours there was any form of romance between the pair. Shortly after paparazzi footage of Jenner and Woods circulated online, Kardashian – who is known to post frequent quotes on Instagram – took to her Stories with three more. One read: "Never blame anyone in your life. The good people give you happiness. The bad people give you experience. The worst people give you a lesson..." "The best people give you memories". Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Her second Instagram Story upload said: "It takes grace to remain kind in cruel situations." Meanwhile, the third showed a quote by Doe Zantamata: "It's easy to judge. It's more difficult to understand. Understanding requires compassion, patience and a willingness to believe that good hearts sometimes choose poor methods... "Through judging, we separate. Through understanding, we grow". Following the reunion, a source told People their friendship was on the mend when Woods reached out to Jenner. "Jordyn reached out to Kylie to apologise for how everything went down and let her know that she loves her," the source allegedly said. A separate person close to them said weekend's encounter wasn't the first time they'd met up. It was the first time they had been spotted in public. The pair have allegedly been working on their friendship off-camera. Have your say in our news democracy. Man complaining about UK being overcrowded on empty street goes viral in resurfaced clip
A man complaining about the UK being overcrowded on an empty street in Kettering has gone viral in a resurfaced clip. James Acaster returned to his hometown for a Sky Christmas special in 2017 to turn on the Christmas lights and have chats with local people. He had one chat with a man on an empty street who was very unhappy with overcrowding - for some reason. "This country is overcrowded, very overcrowded," he said. "It is equivalent to like China or India," he added. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter "It doesn't look it though," Acaster replied, while looking around at the empty street. "If it doesn't feel like it, its alright innit?" "Well it's quiet today because its early," the man said. "Later on you won't be able to move, shoulder to shoulder," Acaster quipped. "Because of?" he continued. "People," the man said. "From?" Acaster asked again. "Abroad," the man said. You can take a look at the clip, which resurfaced on Twitter earlier this week, here: It takes all sorts to make a world. Have your say in our news democracy.
