Noel Gallagher has sparked a feud with Adele after calling her "offensive" and slamming her songs as "s**t". The former Oasis star is not shy of speaking his mind. He's famously called Robbie Williams "the fat dancer from Take That," described Scotland as a "third world country" and compared Lewis Capaldi to "Chewbacca". But now, Adele – who is seemingly minding her own business in Las Vegas – is in Noel's firing line. When Matt Morgan asked whether he was a fan of Adele's music, the 56-year-old told the podcast host: "They’re f***ing s**t. It’s f***ing awful. It’s f***ing Cilla Black. I find it and that whole thing offensive." Despite his strong words, he did however suggest he'd be open to writing songs for her in the future. "If I fall out of love with touring, I could see myself just sitting at home writing songs and sending them to my publishers. I might in the future. I’ll be saying, 'Get Adele to sing that. Don’t call until she’s done the guide vocal'," Noel joked, adding: "I want Lewis Capaldi to murder this song, I want him to sit on it from a great height. Make me rich’." This isn't the first time Noel has fired shots at the singer, after misgendering Smith during an appearance on Dutch radio Kink. "Music has become quite fractured and chart music is dominated by pop. When asked whether he was referring to anyone in particular, the former Oasis star responded: "Sam Smith." "Why?" the host asked before Gallagher quipped: "Look at him." Australia captain Sam Kerr will sit out the next two matches of her home Woman’s World Cup with a calf injury, her national federation has announced. The Chelsea striker is Australia’s all-time goalscorer of either gender with 63 goals across 121 caps, but she will be forced to watch Thursday’s opener against the Republic of Ireland from the bench after sustaining the injury during a training session on Wednesday. Australia next face Nigeria on July 27 and will hope Kerr is fit enough to start their final group stage match on July 31 against Olympic champions Canada, the highest FIFA-ranked Group B nation. Nyck de Vries admits his exit from AlphaTauri “hurts” after speaking out for the first time since losing his seat in Formula 1. The Dutch driver, who impressed so highly in finishing ninth last year at Monza for Williams, struggled throughout the first 10 races of the 2023 season. Alongside Logan Sargeant at Williams, De Vries was the only driver yet to score a point and has been under increasing pressure from Red Bull chief Helmut Marko. And with Marko dropping De Vries, Daniel Ricciardo has stepped in to replace the Dutchman ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix this weekend and for the remainder of the 2023 season. “Of course it hurts the F1 chance I dreamed of for so long ended prematurely,” the 28-year-old said on Instagram. “After recent events, I decided to take some time for myself away from social media, which I will continue to do. I would like to thank Red Bull and Scuderia AlphaTauri for the opportunity to live my dream. “But life is not a destination, it’s a journey, and sometimes you have to take the hard road to get where you want to be. “I am grateful for our privileged lives, proud of our journey and my family. This is just another experience, we move on and look forward to the next chapter.” De Vries also addressed media articles in the past week purporting quotes from the axed driver, which he implied are not accurate given he hasn’t spoken to the press. “I received some interesting articles about things I’ve said in the last week,” he added. “For clarity, I haven’t spoken to any media and for the time being I’ll enjoy some me time.
