Indian actress Rashmika Mandanna has issued a statement after she was the victim of a deepfake video also involving the British-Indian influencer, engineer and model Zara Patel. In a video, which has since gone viral across social media, a woman with Mandanna's face, wearing workout gear with a low-cut neckline can be seen getting into an elevator, with another person in the lift filming from a POV perspective. However, 27-year-old Mandanna, best known for her roles in Telugu and Kannada films as well as Tamil and Hindi films, is not the woman in the video at all. The body of the woman belongs to the aforementioned Patel, who has more than 400,000 followers on Instagram alone. Mandanna meanwhile has more than 39 million followers. After being made aware of the video Mandanna has issued a statement lambasting the deepfake video, calling it 'extremely scary' and called for urgent action to be taken on how deepfake technology is being used. Mandanna has also shared a side-by-side video featuring the deepfake and the original clip to show the difference between the two. Meanwhile, Patel has also said that she had reported the video on Instagram and called for similar action to be taken. On X/Twitter the influencer wrote: "I've reported this deep fake video of me and instagram hasnt taken it down. We seriously need prompt action when it comes to things like this. Do better @instagram." Deepfakes have become an increased problem since the technology emerged a few years with many users utilising the technology to make explicit clips and images of female stars such as Billie Eilish, Scarlett Johansson and Emma Watson. The likes of Greta Thunberg and MrBeast have also been victims of deepfakes with the technology being used to fool people into believing that they promoted issues and schemes which they do not condone. "The first reason why this new rule is kinda growing on me is that if a guy is willing to go on enough dates to warrant $2,000 out of pocket expense, then there’s a fair chance the guy is properly invested in you," Hocking wrote for AU News. "I mean, if a libido can withstand that many dates, then he’s a keeper," she continued. A chance for users to have their year in music compartmentalised into fun statistics to share and compare with friends. Now, a third-party app is promising something similar for Instagram. But should you be concerned about potential data breaches? In order to reveal your end-of-year round-up on Instagram, users have been downloading the app Wrapped, which claims to show your activities on your Instagram account. Although, it is currently only available on the App Store. Wrapped claims to present an in-depth analysis of your data after you download it from Instagram yourself. This is simple to do, with users only needing to go to their profile, go to Your Activity, and select Download Your Information. Wrapped alleges that some of the data it will present you with includes how many people screenshot your posts, how many users have blocked you, and who you interacted the most with. Despite these claims, there is increasing scepticism that the results given to users are accurate. Meta - Instagram's parent company - has a strict policy against revealing any details regarding its users. And Instagram doesn't show who visited your profile. Some users who have tried the app have claimed that Wrapped shows them different figures with each attempt. "I'm 90% sure it's inaccurate," wrote one user. "I just downloaded it and every time I logged into my account and looked at the numbers, it changed. Most drastic was the number of people who have apparently blocked me which went from 1 to 2 then 12 in the span of 5 minutes. Wouldn't trust it!" Due to the requirement of sharing data from your personal Instagram account, many are worried that their data may be exposed after sharing their information with a third-party app. Wrapped's developer, Wrapped Labs, claims in their privacy policy: "For a better experience, while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information. The information that we request will be retained by us and used as described in this privacy policy. "The app does use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you." Their policy also claims Wrapped does its best to protect user's personal information but it "cannot guarantee its absolute security." Music artist Machine Gun Kelly has the most savage reaction to F1’s Martin Brundle after walking away from the Sky interviewer. Brundle is well known for his grid walks as he tries to catch live interviews with celebrities, sometimes leading to awkward encounters like when Brad Pitt completely snubbed him. This time, the British former racing driver was on the tarmac ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix race where he managed to catch a few moments with Machine Gun Kelly. Brundle first asked the American rapper about his career and what is going on with him currently, prompting quite a strange response, as Kelly simply replied: “Oh, my career. I don’t think about my career, I don’t think about it.” But, the artist perked up a bit when asked about F1, saying, “I think your business (F1) is great. It’s loud, your life is on the line and that’s exciting. “I was in a studio the other week and Lewis Hamilton was in the other studio. That was nice, yeah.” He then flipped the question around and asked Brundle what he thinks about the music business. The Sky Sports presenter replied, saying that there’s always been “a synergy between the music business and the motor racing business”. Things then got very odd as Kelly asked Brundle to do his best “air piano”, so they could do a “collaboration”, which Brundle politely declined. The presenter explained that he “probably needs to get on”, prompting a thumbs down to the camera from Kelly before he walked off, disappointed. If you’ve used Google today, you may have noticed the typical logo on the search engine has been jazzed up as it pays tribute to the Spanish Romani flamenco dancer Carmen Amaya. The Google Doodle features bright colours and the animated figure of Amaya in a pose with her hands flared in a way that reflects the traditional style of dance she performed. On 2 November, it marks what would have been Amaya's 110th birthday and was illustrated by the Barcelona-based artist Genie Espinoza. Who is Carmen Amaya? Born on 2 November 1913 in Barcelona, Amaya was born into a family of flamenco dancers. Her father played the guitar and by the time she was 4 years old, she was already dancing in tavernas whilst he played. Her unique and expressive dance style eventually caught the attention of a showrunner, who booked her to perform in prestigious venues such as the Spanish Theatre in Barcelona and Paris’ Palace Theatre. In 1929, when Amaya was in her mid-teens, she began touring Spain and Portugal with some of the world’s most renowned flamenco dancers. While other dancers in the genre focused on the movements of their upper body and arms, Amaya utilised her whole body. In addition, her rapid footwork became a known trademark of her unique style, which drew fans from across Latin America. Amaya settled in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and formed her own flamenco troupe which toured around South America. Next, after more than a decade of touring, she moved to Mexico City. In 1941, Amaya performed in New York where she won over the US President, Franklin D. Roosevelt, who later invited her to dance at the White House. Towards the end of her career, she spent time in Hollywood, acting in films such as La Historia de los Tarantos. Over the years, Amaya’s legacy has been recognised by her home country of Spain. She was awarded the Medal of the Tourist Merit of Barcelona and in the city’s Montuic Park, there is a monument and a fountain in her honour.
