'Water, sleep and sex': Lionel Richie finally puts to rest all the rumors he has had plastic surgery

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lionel Richie, who was recently seen performing at King Charles' Coronation concert on Sunday, May 7, has reportedly revealed his secrets behind maintaining an evergreen appearance even at the age of 73. The ‘All Night Long’ singer, who is famous for maintaining his youthful appearance for many years, said that he would never resort to plastic surgery even if many of his contemporaries were doing so.

Richie, who is dating 33-year-old Lisa Parigi, stated that he would regret not being able to revert to his natural appearance after having plastic surgery, according to the Daily Mail. He listed some basic necessities to be the main components for him to maintain his youthful look.

The father-of-three said in the interview, “[Plastic surgery] locks you in for that year [while you recover] - and after that you can't go naturally, you're staying right there…”

Fearing that he would never be able to feel real again, Richie has adopted an anti-plastic surgery stance. He said, “You try and go back to reset, and you can't. [And] that s**t goes wrong!” He continued, “God might not recognize me, so I want to make sure he knows me.”

However, the septuagenarian also maintains a strict lifestyle that helps him look ageless, as he listed his pre-requisites of maintaining a healthy lifestyle at the eighth annual Hollywood Beauty Awards, “Water, sleep, and sweat, not too much red meat.”

The ‘Hello’ singer, however, is aware of how “boring” this can be. “I know it's real boring,” he said, but he has found out a better approach to anti-ageing. "[Sex] will work also and it's good for your heart," he said.

‘All night long’

This is not the first time Richie has spoken about his sex life. On the Tuesday, March 28 episode of ‘The View’, ‘The Only One’ singer spoke candidly about his sex life during a discussion with his fellow 'American Idol’ judges Katy Perry and Luke Bryan. Speaking about the 40-year anniversary of his hit song, ‘All Night Long’, Richie said, “When I wrote ‘All Night Long,’ it was truly all night long,” adding, “Now my ‘all night long’ is down to a fierce 15 minutes.” The R&B star added, “But, don’t worry, we’ll talk about that later,” Page Six reported.

Perry then exclaimed, “Fifteen minutes? That’s long, bud.” The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer concluded, “And don’t you forget that, alright?”

'Lionel Ritchie's plastic surgery is holding up well'

Many took to social media to react to Richie's statements. A fan commented, "Lionel Ritchie hasn't aged a day since he was last in Bo Selecta." Another doubted whether he has really not done anything on his face, as they said, "Does anyone believe Lionel Ritchie never had any work done? Got them Kenny Roger's eyes." A third said, "Lionel Ritchie has had so much plastic surgery now he finally looks like his clay bust #CoronationConcert." Another criticized, "Oh dear Lionel Ritchie, instead of having plastic surgery, you should have had surgery on your vocal chords." "Lionel Ritchie's plastic surgery is holding up well, lol," commented another social media user.
