LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets' will be available on Amazon Prime starting tomorrow. The series will delve into the iconic Duggar family, which consists of 19 children led by parents Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar. For many years, the Duggars were quite popular on reality television as they appeared on TLC's '19 Kids And Counting' and its spin-off 'Counting On'. The documentary on the Duggar family will be available on Amazon Prime on June 2. The limited series will consist of four episodes, all of which will be released at the same time. According to PEOPLE, Amy King, 36, the Duggars' cousin who was known for being "rebellious," will also feature in the documentary with her husband, Dillon. The Duggars got embroiled in controversy after the couple's oldest child, Josh, 35, was accused of assaulting five females (including several of his sisters), leading to the show's discontinuation in 2015. In a separate case, he was sentenced to 12 and a half years in jail in May for possessing and receiving child pornography. Jill Duggar and her husband, Derick Dillard, relocated to the border of Oklahoma and Arkansas with their growing family after Derick accepted a new job.

In the documentary, Jill Dillard admits that her father, Jim Bob, pushed her to continue shooting for TLC after she got married and that the network itself encouraged her to tape the birth of her first child. In exchange for payment from the network to cover their out-of-pocket expenses, Jill and Derick agreed to film the birth of their oldest son, Israel. Derick claims that TLC promised to "pay the family."
According to the documentary, Jim Bob was in charge of the majority of the revenue generated by the Duggar family's TLC shows, and the older Duggar kids needed to get adequate payment for their work on the program. For background, the wedding and birthing episodes of the series, which focused heavily on the eldest Duggar women, were among the most watched episodes, as reported by AOL.
