LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Dua Lipa’s lookalike sister Rina Lipa is all set to make her Hollywood debut with an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic novel ‘Great Expectations’. The film, which is currently in post-production, is directed by Chris Robert Riegel. It is said to bear the title ‘Expectations’ and has Rina Lipa play a character called Cressida.
The film is better described as a spin-off of the classic novel as it will follow the protagonist Pip’s journey later into his life. Apart from Rina Lipa, the film also features actors like Callan McAuliffe and Blu Hunt in primary roles along with Samuel Arnold, Annie Q Riegel, Colin Ferguson, Chris Gray, Nadia Alexander, and Jenna Leigh Green in supporting roles, as per Deadline.
Who is Rina Lipa?
Rina Lipa is the younger sister of the musical phenomenon Dua Lipa. She was born on May 14, 2001, and is the middle child of their parents Anesa and Dukagjin Lipa's three children. As per Grazia Magazine, Rina is a passionate model and budding actor. The Kosovo-Albanian origin model is fluent in Albanian after spending six years in the capital of Kosovo, Pristina, as per Grazia.
After starring in several commercials at a young age, Rina realized her passion for acting and performing arts. She later took lessons in ballet and took acting lessons from Sylvia Young Drama Classes. Rina has also competed in The Rock Challenge dance competition and received the Jack Petchey Award in 2014.
Even though she started her modeling career just in 2021 with the Milan Fashion Week, she has already worked with several renowned brands. She started her Fashion Week journey by walking for Giuliano Calza Design Studio’s Fall 2021 collection. She has also represented brands like Versace and Miu Miu, among others.
Rina has garnered over 900k followers on Instagram and has posed for the covers of Numero Netherlands. She is never shy about posting her and her family’s photos on social media.
Apart from her role in the Chris Robert Riegel directorial ‘Expectations’, Rina has also appeared in a few short films and is scheduled to star in an upcoming horror film by Italian director Gianluigi Carella.
'I want to be a good role model for them'
As the 22-year-old is now entering the limelight, she has her sister to thank. In 2018, Dua Lipa said in an interview with BBC that she has always strived to be a good role model for her sister Rina and brother Gjin. She said proudly, "Everything I do is to show my little brother and sister that they can do whatever they put their minds to, and I guess I want to be a good role model for them."
When Rina turned 21 last year, her doting sister Dua shared an Instagram carousel celebrating her birthday. She wrote in the caption, "Happy Birthday to my main squeeeeeeze!! the light of my life ~ my sister @rinalipa i love you i love you i love you ❤️ 21!!!!! ❤️"
