Will there be a Season 2 of 'Waco: The Aftermath'? Full closure makes Season 2 highly unlikely

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Waco Siege’ is one of the most horrifying incidents in the history of the United States and many still cannot believe that such a horrendous raid took place at Waco. During the 51-day standoff between federal agents and Branch Davidians, four federal agents and 82 Branch Davidians lost their lives, 28 of whom were children. In ‘Waco: The Aftermath’, viewers got to see what happened after the siege and during the trial. The trial ended with massive injustice. At first, the jury said found Paul Fatta, Clive Doyle (John Hoogenakker), Ruth Riddle, and Livingstone Fagan “not guilty” of two out of three charges.

However, in the charges of “usage of illegal firearms”, the jury found Fatta, Riddle, and Fagan (Michael Luwoye) “guilty”. But the judge had to overturn the jury’s decision because how can they be guilty of using a firearm when they have been found “not guilty” of any crime? But things took a pretty weird turn when the judge overturned his decision and sentenced all three to multiple years in prison.

On the other hand, Timothy McVeigh bombed the building where the decision of the ‘Waco’ raid was taken and killed more than 160 people. The season ended with the bomb blast that took place in Oklahoma City and McVeigh running away.

The story ended with full closure, but will Showtime find a way to tell the ‘Waco’ story in any other way? Let’s find out.

Will there be a Season 2 of ‘Waco: The Aftermath’?

The finale ended with Timothy McVeigh bombing and destroying one-third of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. The bombing was the deadliest act of terrorism in the United States prior to the September 11 attacks. It remains the deadliest act of domestic terrorism in U.S. history.

The series gives a full closure to the ‘Waco Siege’ and there’s no way that Showtime could show anything more. Yes, they can do a spin-off show on any of the characters, but it’s highly unlikely that it will happen.

One thing Showtime might do is it can continue the story about McVeigh and how he was caught after the bombing. That would be an intriguing story to see.

As of now, it doesn’t look like ‘Waco: The Aftermath’ will return for another run.
